NEW ULM, MINN. 9181 Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City on March 9, 1960. Upon motion by Tingley, second by Morris, Alderman Haas was appointed as President pro tem. All voted in favor thereof. President pro'tem Haas called the`meeting to order ai 3:00 o'clock P. m., the following members being present: Aldermen Haas, McGuckin,'Morris and Tingley. Absent: President Kamm 'and Aldermen Hanlon -and Wilkus. The Council theficprbbeeded to the'polling;places.in the various precints of the City to,inspect the register counters of the voting machines and;to compare the number of votes shown by such voting machines with the returns submitted by the Judges, at the City Charter Election held on March 8th, 1960. After making the canvass of the voting machines the Council members returned to the City Hall at 4:56 P. M. and President pro tem called the meeting to order, the following members being present: Aldermen Haas, McGuckin,�Morris and Tingley.' 1 Alderman Haas then introduced a resolution canvassing the returns of the City Charter Election held on March 8, 1960 which lollows: J "Be it resolved by the Common Council`of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That the attached sheet is a tabulated statement and list of the number of votes cast for each person'at the Charter Election held March 8th, 1960 in the City of Rochester, Minnesota,.as determined by said Common Council on the canvass of the returns of said election made the 9th day of March, 1960, the said statement is hereby declared to show the result of said election. Said tabulated list and statement ar`e below. SO THEREFORE, Be it resolved_ by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That Albert J. Tingley is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman at Large ofsaidCity, at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960, to hold office -for two years and_until his successor is elected and qualified; That Archie M. Ackerman is hereby declared to be elected to the office of City Treasurer of said City, at the Charter Election held March.8, 1960 to hold office for one year and until his successor is elected and qualified; That William S. LaPlante is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Municipal Judge (Judge of Municipal Court) of said City, at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960, to hold office for six years and until his successor is elected and qualified; That Donald C. Steiner is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Special Municipal Judge of said City, at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960 to hold office for six years and until his successor is elected and qualified; That Stanley J. Brooks is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman of the First Ward of said City,. at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960 to bold office for one year and until his successor is elected and qualified; That Ray W. Gifford is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman of the Second Ward of said City, at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960 to hold office for two years and until his successor is elected and qualified; That James R. Wilson is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman of the Third Ward of said City, at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960, to hold office for one year and until his successor is elected and qualified; That Lawrence B. Stadler is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman of the Fourth Ward of said City, at the Charter Election held March 8, 1960, to hold office for two years and until his successor is elected and qualified; That Stanley M. "Sparky" Morris is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman of the Fifth Ward of said City, at the Charter Election held ::. March 8, 1960, to hold office for one year and until his successor is elected and qualified.;. That Frank J.
