Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the City Hall, on March 14, 1962.
President.Tingley called the meeting to order at 3:00 o'clock P. M., the follow-
ing members being present: President Tingley, Aldermen DeVries, Leonard, Morris, and Stadler.
Absent: Alderman Wilkus and Wilson.
The Council then proceeded to the polling places in the various precincts of the
City -to inspect the register counters of the voting machines and.to compare the number of votes
shown by such voting machines with the returns submitted by the Judges at the City Charter
Election held March 13thi 1962:
After making the canvass of the voting machines the Council members returned to
the City Hall at 4:15 o'clock P. M. President Tingley called,the meeting to order,.the following,'
members being present: President Tingley, Aldermen DeVries, Leonard, Morris and Stadlerg
Absent: Alderman-Wilkus and Wilson. - ,
• Alderman•DeVries then introduced the following resolution canvassing returns for
the City Charter Election held March 13thi 1962:
"Be it resolved by the Common Council of the'City of Rochester, Minnesota
That the attached sheet is a tabulated statement and list of the number of votes
cast, for each person at -the Charter Election held March 13th, 1962 in the City of Rochester, j
Minnesota, as determined by said Common Council on the canvass of the said returns of said
election made the•14th day. of March( 1962, the said statement is hereby declared to show the
result of said election.

SO THEREFORE,
Be
it (resolved
by the Common Council of
the
City of
Rochester,
Minnesota:
That Albert J. Tingley is hereby declared to be elected to the office, of Alderman'
at Large of the.City of Rochester, at the Charter Election held March 13th, 1962, to hold office
two years and until his successor is elected and qualified;
That Archie M. Ackerman is hereby declared to be elected,to the office of City
Treasurer of the.City of Rochester, at the Charter Election held March 13th, 1962, to hold office
for one year and until his successor is elected and qualified;
That David A. Leonard is hereby declared to be -elected to the office of Alderman
of the Second Ward of the City of Rochester, at the Charter Election held March 13, 1962, to hold)
off-ice,formtwo years and until his successor is elected and qualified;
That William C. Bergstedt is hereby declared to be elected to the office of
Alderman of the Fourth Ward of the City of Rochester, at the Charter Election held March 13, 19629
to hold office for two years and until his successor is elected and qualified; I'
That Wallace J. Thomas is hereby declared to be elected to the office of Alderman
of r_t,P Sixth Ward of the City of Rochester, at the Charter &lection held March 13th, 1962, to
for two years and until his successor is elected and qualified. i
A -motion was then made by Leonard, second by Stadler, that the said resolution bef

adopted -as read, and all voting in favor thereof,-. President Tingley declared.the said resolution
duly passed and adopted. I t

and,all voting in favor thereof, the same were approved.and the Mayor -and -City Clerk.were
authorized and directed to>draw warrants upon the City Treasurer and make..payments accordingly:
