Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City, on June 24, 1964. (The Council adjourned to the Mayor's Office because Court was being field in the Council Chambers).' President DeVries called the meeting to order at 4:30 o'clock P. M.the-following members being present:, President DeVries, Aldermen Day, Eichten, Hanlon, Perry, Wilson. Absent: McCaleb. The call of the special meeting was read and President DeVries ordered the same placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of considering issuing a beer license for Eastwood Park and oiling 2600 feet of township road adjacent to said park and anyls. other business the Common Council may deem proper. The recommendation of the Public Safety Committee that the application of Dorothy L. Decker for license to sell "on" and,"off" sale non -intoxicating malt liquor and cigarettes and soft drinks at the new Eastwood Golf Course, Rochester, Minnesota be approved and the licenses be granted, was read. R. V. Ehrick, City Attorney, stated that issuance of this license was out of the jurisdiction of the Common Council because the property in question is located outisde the city limits and stated that it would be a function of the County Commissioners to issue such a license. Upon motion by Wilson, second by Eichten, and all voting in favor thereof, the applications were referred to the Board of County Commissioners, with the recommendation of the Common Council that they be approved, and the City Clerk was instructed to refund the fees paid by Dorothy Decker. The matter of oiling approximately 2600 feet of township road which is --adjacent to the Eastwood Park was discussed. R. V. Ehrick, City Attorney, stated that the City was authorized byl State Statutes to spend city funds to improve County, Township and Statedroads outisde the City which lead into the City. C. A. Armstrong, City Engineer, stated that he did not think the City should oil this road and recommended that one application of Chloride, be put on, the road, and this would probably have to be done a couple of times this summer; he estimated the cost of one application to be about $200.00 to $250.00. A motion was then made by Eichten, second by Wilson, authorizing and instructing the City Engineer to put the necessary application of chloride on the Township Road leading to the Eastwood Park, with the approval of the Town Board, and the cost be paid from the General Fund. All voted in favor thereof. A motion was then made by Day, second by Wilson, that the Council consider business other than the call. Alderman Perry voted "no". Upon motion by Hanlon, second by Eichten, and all voting in favor thereof, the meeting was adjourned. City elerk
