Minutes of a special meeting of the Common .Council of. the City of Rochester, Minnesota,
held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in -said -City, on September 29, 1964.
President.DeVries called themeeting to order at 7:15 P. M., the following members
being present: President DeVries, Aldermen.Day,. Eichten, Hanlon, McCaleb, Perry, Wilson.
Absent: None.
The call of -the special meeting was read and President DeVries ordered the same placed
on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of approving a resolution on
encroachment and parking on Highway Project 52-14 for the Minnesota Highway -Department and any
other - business the said. Common Council may deem proper.
Mr. Charles Burrell of the Minnesota Highway Department was present and stated that'in
order for the Highway Department to obtain Federal Aid they had to have the assurance of the
City of Rochester that they would not suffer any encroachment of any nature or -kind whatsoever
on the right �of way of said Trunk Highway Number 7 and 20 renumbered as Trunk Highway Number
14 and 52 within the corporate limits of the said City of Rochester; he said they ordinarily
submitted this resolution at the same time as the one approved the grade line but something had
happened and they had missed sending this one.
Alderman Wilson then introduced a resolution providing that no encroachment of any kind
be permitted upon the right-of-way of T. H. 6 and 20 renumbered as 14 and 52 Vithin the corporate
limits of the City of Rochester, which was read.. A motion was made by Hanlon, second by Wilson,
that the said resolution be adopted as read and all voting in favor thereof, President DeVries
declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. z
Mr. Burrill also reminded theCouncil of the -open house to be held at the new Highway
Building on October 8th from 2:00 p.m, to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 po m. to 9:00 p.m.
Upon motion by Wilson,second by Eichten, and all voting in favor thereof, the meeting
was adjourned.
