Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City, on July 7,
1966.
President DeVries called the meeting to order at 4:00 o'clock P. M., the
following members being present: President DeVries, Aldermen Day,-Eichten, Folkert, McCaleb,
Perry, Wilson.
President DeVries stated that they had adjourned to this date to have a dis-
cussion of the Bus Transportation System in the City of Rochester; he said Mr. W. E. Kelly
had been contacted and invited to attend this meeting and had said he would be here and now
this morning the following telegram was received:
"In regard to the meeting of Thursday afternoon 4 P. M. I will be unable to
make this meeting due to other commitments in Minot. I will appear with the
Railroad and Warehouse Commission on Friday 9 A.M. I have agreed with the
Commission #1 St. Marys Hospital Bus on Monday of next week. I also agreed
with the Commission and they were satsified that I would start the other
three buses on or before the end of 60 days and will be before. This is the
way it was set up with the Commission last week. I hope this will meet with
your approval. You leave it in my hands. You will receive the same kind of
buses as the one there now and the service that I agreed upon with the
Commission. Please answer this wire.

President DeVries stated that he was disappointed in Mr. W. E. Kelly and had hoped that hb
would be here to day to give some information as to why the delay in bus service. He said
there was a bus parked in front of City Hall which was brought to town by Mr. George Holter
of Richfield and called a short recess for the Alderman to go view the bus. The meeting was
called to order again at 4:40 P. M. with all members being present.
Mr. George Holter was present and stated that he was still interested in coming
to Rochester and would like the chance to give bus service Rochester; he said he could put
four buses on four routes here by possibley August 1, 1966.
Alderman Day stated that he felt Mr. Kelly should still -be given a chance to be
heard, because he felt Kelly had at least made a start by going to the Railroad & Warehouse
Commission.
A motion was then made by Eichten, second by McCaleb, that the meeting be
adjourned until 4:00 o'clock P. M. on Monday, July 11, 1966 and that both Mr. W. E. Kelly and
Mr. George Holter be asked to be present; all voted in favor thereof.
