Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in.said City, on
March 1, 1967.
President DeVries called the meeting to order at 3:00,o'clock P. M., the following
members being present: President DeVries, Aldermen Day, Folkert, and Perry. Absent: Alderman
McCaleb, Postier and Wilson.
The Council members then proceeded to the polling places of the various voting
precincts of the City, to inspect the register counters of the voting machines and to compare
the number of votes shown by such voting machines with the returns submitted by the Judges at •
the Primary Election held on February 28, 1967.
After making a canvass of the votes, the Council returned to the City Hall at 4:00
P. M. President DeVries called the meeting to order with the following members being present
President DeVries, Aldermen Day, Folkert, Perry, Postier. Absent: Alderman McCaleb and Wilson.
Alderman Day then introduced the following resolution which was read:
"Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota:
That the following is a tabulated statement of the number of votes cast for each
person at the Primary Election held on February 28th, 1967, A.D. in the City of Rochester
as determined by the said Common Council on the canvass of the returns of the said Primary
Election made this 1st day of March, A.D. 1967, and that the said tabulated statement is
hereby declared to show the results of the said'Primary Election:

Be it further resolved by the said Common Council:
That W. Wayne Ellison and Paul J. Ludowese are hereby declared to be candidates for
the office of Alderman of the Third Ward of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, at the -Charter •
Election to be held March 14th, 1967.
That Richard J. Postier and James R. Powers are hereby declared to be candidates for
the office of Alderman of the Fourth Ward of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, at the Charter
Election to be held March 14th, 1967.
That Robert L. Larson and Larry McCaleb are hereby declared to be candidates for the
office of Alderman of the Fifth Ward of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, at the Charter
Election to be held March 14th, 1967.
That the City Clerk of said City is hereby instructed to cause the names of the said
persons to be printed as candidates for the respective offices upon the official ballots at
the coming Charter Election to be held on March 14th, 1967."
A motion was made by Day, second by Postier, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and
all present voting in favor, President DeVries declared the said resolution duly passed and
adopted.
Alderman Folkert intro&ced a resolution appropriating $461.20 from the General Fund
and $553.24 from the Police Fund and ordering payment made to N. W. Bell Telephone Company.
A motion was made by Folkert, second by Day, that the said resolution be adopted as read and
all present voting in favor, President DeVries declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted.

The following claims were each read and upon motion by Day, second by Postier, and
all present voting in favor, the same were approved and the Mayor and City Clerk were authorize
and directed to draw warrants upon the City Treasurer and make payments accordingly:
