Minutes of•a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, held -in -the -Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City, on October 9, 1969.
A motion was made by Larson, second by Ludowese, that Alderman Folkert act.as
President pro tem; all present voted in favor.
President pro tem Folkert called the meeting to order at 12:00 oU' lock noon
with the following members being present: President pro tem Folkert, Aldermen Cherland,
Larson, Ludowese, Postier, Strain. Absent: President DeVries.
The call of the special meeting was read and President pro tem Folkert
ordered the same placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of
adopting the tax levy budget and any other business the said Common Council may deem proper.
A resolution levying taxes upon the taxable property in the City of Rochester;
collectible in 1970, as follows was read:

A motion was made by Larson, second by Ludowese, that the above resolution be adopted as
read and all present voting in favor, President pro tem Folkert declared the said reso.lut
duly passed and adopted.
A resolution approving the "1970 Adopted Budget" as follows was read:

A motion was made by Larson, second by Postier, that the above resolution be adopted as
read and all present voting in favor, President pro tem Folkert declared the said
resolution duly passed and adopted.
A motion was made by Postier, second by Strain, to consider business other
than the call; all present voted in favor.
A motion was made by Postier, second by Cherland, that the recommendation of

the Public Safety Committee which was tabled at the.last.meeting,.ordering bids to be
.advertised for a traffic actuated signal and.street:=lights at.2nd Street S..E. and 2nd Avenue
S. E. be approved. There was still some question as to whether the signal was warranted at`
this intersection, so a motion.was made by Postier, second by Cherland, that this be tabled and
referred back to the Public Safety.Committee; all present voted in favor.
A motion was made by Ludowese, second by Larson, that the crossing at 9th
Avenue and 5th Street Northwest be referred to the Public Safety Committee for study and
recommendation; all present voted in favor..
A motion was made by Larson, second by Postier,-that the meeting be adjourned;
all present voted in favor.
