RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA
Regular Adjourned Meeting No. 39 - February 10, 1976
President Postier called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M., the
following members being present: President Postier, Aldermen Allen,
Kamper, Larson, Powers and Strain. Absent : James McNary.
The meeting was called to order for the consideration of the approval
of bonds and other documents for the Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Mr. Gerald Swanson explained some of the contents of the prepared.
Resolution. Larson moved, Powers second to approve the prepared
Resolution No. 67-76 of the Common Council of the City of Rochester
Minnesota approving the issuance and sale of $17,045,000 aggregate
principal amount of hospital.revenue bonds, Series A ( Rochester
Methodist Hospital Project ) of the City of Rochester, Minnesota;
authorizing execution of an indenture of trust and pledge, a loan
agreement, a contract of purchase, a letter of presentation of an
official statement, all relating to said Series A Bonds. Ayes (6),
Nays (0). Motion carried.
Kamper moved, Strain second to approve the prepared Resolution No.
68-76 submitting the question of whether or not the City can issue
liquor licenses in excess of the statutory limit presently provided
by law. The council took action on this, and this should be presente
to the electorate. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. This is set
for the March 9, 1976 election.
Mayor`Smekta read a letter he received from Kenneth Zubay, State
Representative. The contextwas a bill being proposed and passed from
the Labor Management Committee and if this bill became law, every
elected person who is responsible for public employees, would lose
their authority. The Governor, through his three appointed Commissi
would rule all public employees in our state. A copy of this letter
was given to all the Council people for their input.
Having no further business, Allen moved, Powers second to adjourn
the meeting until 7:30 P.M. February 17,,1976. Ayes (6), Ilays (0).
Motion carried.
