A-1 President Postier called.the Special Adjourned Meeting to order at
4:45 P.M., the following members being present: President Postier,
Aldermen Allen, Larson, Powers, Strain. Absent: Aldermen Gray and
Sol finger.
E-1 Powers moved, Allen second to adopt the prepared Resolution No. 408-
77 approving the low bid of Western Walls, Inc. Rochester, Minnesota
of the low bid of $65,818.05 for Project No. 6502-77 J 8592 Grading
and Surfacing, Storm Sewer, and Service Connections in Cascade St.
from 18th to 19 th Avenue ; Storm Sewer on the west side of 18th
Avenue from the southeast corner of Lot 11, Allendale Subdivision to
Cascade Street. with final execution of the contract pending execution
of the agreement between the City and Western Walls, Inc. and receipt
of cash or bond deposit by Western Walls, Inc. Ayes (5), Nays (0).
Motion carried.
E-2 Larson moved, Powers second to approve $33,000. from the City's
contingency account to match State funding to construct six new tennis
courts. This has been approved by the Park Board. Ayes (5), Nays (0).
Motion carried.
E-3 Strain moved, Larson second to approve the request to close Quarry
Hill park and parking lot at 11:00 P.M. Ayes (5), Nays (0). Motion
carried.
E-4 Larson moved, Powers second to approve the appointment of William
Haas to the position of Alarm Superintendent in the Rochester Fire
Department and Terence Yust to the position as Assistant Alarm Super-
intendent effective July 11, 1977. Ayes (5), Nays (0). Motion carried.
F-1 Larson moved, Strain second to adopt Resolution No. 409-77 authorizing,
condemnation proceedings for acquisition of a permanent easement
from Walth and Hartman known as parcel 43 in the County of Olmsted.
Ayes (5), Nays (0). Motion carried.
F-1 Strain moved, Allen second to adopt Resolution No. 410-77 approving
an agreement between the City and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agen
and the United States Environmental Protection Agency pertaining to th
City Wastewater treatment plant. Ayes (5), Nays (0).. Motion carried.
