HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-22-1977RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL `29 A-1 C-1 E-1 E-2 E-3 F-1 PJ CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA Special Meeting No. 14 - August 22, 1977 The Special Meeting of the Common Council was called to order at 4:45 P.M. by President Postier, the following members being present. Aldermen Allen, Gray, Larson, Powers, Solinger, Strain and President Postier. Absent: None. The call of the special meeting was read, said call being held for the purpose of adopting an Ordinance Rezoning Lot 18, Block 2, Meadow Park Sixth Sub. PUD-R-34 ( Floyd Whipple ) and any other business the Council may deem necessary. Larson moved, Solinger second to approve the Fire Commission's recommendation of the appointment of Thomas W. Junge to the position of Firefighter effective September 15, 1977. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Allen moved,Strain second to approve the following estimates for proji in progress at Rochester Muncipal Airport as follows: 1. Paving Runway 20 Progressive Contractors, Inc. $361,013.42. # 2 Engineering Services - McGhie and Betts Runway 20 $25,839.58; 3. Miller - Dunwiddie Architects, Central Boarding Concourse - $15,715.35. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Powers moved, Gray second to approve the request received from the National Organization of Women (NOW ) and the ERA Coalitition to conduct a walkathon on Saturday, August 27, 1977. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Powers moved, Allen second to approve the Personnel Policy procedure change regarding Payment for Overtime - Section 2 was changed to eliminate the words , such as City Administrator and his staff, depa heads, division managers, professional and technical employees such as engineers, chemists, attorneys , and accountants. in Subdivision D - Payment for Overtime. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. An Ordinance Rezoning Certain Property Creating a Planned Unit Development PUD-R-34 and amending Ordinance No. 1659 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Rochester - Lot 18, Block 2, Meadow Park Sixth Sub. ( Floyd Whipple ) was brought before the Counc Larson moved, Powers •second to suspend the rules and give this a 2nd reading. Upon Roll Call vote, Alermen Allen, Gray, Larson, Powers, Solinger and Strain, and President Postier voted aye. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried and the Ordinance was given its second reading. Powers moved, Gray second to adopt the Ordinance as read. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Having no further business, .Powers moved, Gray second to adjourn the meeting. Ayes (7), Nays (0).
