RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA
Adjourned Meeting No 36 - April 18, 1979
President Postier called the meeting to order at 11:00 A.M., the
following members being present: President Postier, Aldermen Allen,
Larson, Powers and Solinger. Absent: Aldermen Duffy and Strain. —
Powers moved, Allen second to adopt Resolution No. 260-79 requesting
the Minnesota Legislature to enact into law Senate File 1821 rela,tiA g
to public employment labor relations and grievance procedures for fire
.fighters. Ayes (5), Nays (0). Motion carried.
Solinger moved, Powers second to approve the following licenses and
bonds: Application from Lowell Gilbertson Auction Center for a permi
to conduct an auction for Import Service Center 1131 112 Valley High
Drive N. W. of garage equipment' and a wrecker on Tuesday April 24,
1979. The $1,000.00 bond has been submitted.. Ayes (5), Nays (0).
Motion carried.
Powers moved, Solinger second to adopt Resolution No. 261-79 approvin
the tabulated votes cast for.each person at the Preimary Election
held April 17, 1979. Offices voted upon were office of Mayor having
cast total votes for Richard,J. Postier 3,600, Sally Martin 2,671
and Chuck Hazama 3,213. Office of Fifth Ward Aldermen Joy Fogarty
526, Robert Larson 965 and Harland Walker 437. Ayes-.(5), Nays (0).

Solinger moved, Powers second to adopt Resolution No. 262-79 acceptin
the grant offer from the State of Minnesota in the amount of $258,720
for design and preparation of plans and specifications for a Wastewat r
Treatment facility. Ayes (5), Nays (0). Motion carried.
Powers moved, Solinger second to adopt Resolution No. 263-79 approvini
the submitting of an application to .the U.S. Department of Housing an(
Urban Development to participate in the federal Low Rent Public Housii
Program and housing facilities developed>>under such a project would
be,:owned by the HRA of Rochester. Ayes (5), Nays (0). Motion carried,
