HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-22-1979RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL 1237 CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA Regular Adjourned Meeting No. 14 - October 22, 1979, Agenda Item A-1 President Postier called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M., the follo - ing members being present: President Postier, Aldermen Allen, Larson, Powers, Solinger and Strain. Absent: Alderman Duffy. Powers moved, Allen second to approve the minutes of the October 9, and 15th, 1979 meeting. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. E-1 Larson moved, Strain second to adopt ResolutionNo. 647-79 authorizing the sale of $4,090,000. general oblication Temporary.Improvement Bond of 1979. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. E-2. Powers moved, Solinger second to adopt Resolution No. 648-79 approvin the Temporary Financing of the acquisition and betterment of real and personal property needed to carry out the development program within the development district together with all relocation costs incidental thereto. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to make the interfund loans to carry out the development program. This is relative to $72,100. of property acquisition and parking lot easement associated with the Riverside Project. Ayes (5), Nays (1). Alderman Strain voted nay. Motion carried. H-1 Larson moved, Powers second to support the upcoming bond issue of $15,000,000. which will be voted on by the citizens of Olmsted County at an election held November 27, 1979. Circle Drive would be include in the money voted on at this election. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. F-1 An Ordinance Rezoning certain Property and amending Ordinance No. 1659 to B-4 General Businesss District on Lots 1,2,3, and 4, Elton Hills First Subdivision Lot 35, Block 2, Elton Hills Third Sub. ( Ranfranz Funeral Home ) was brought before the Council. Powers moved, Solinger second to suspend the rules and give this Ordinance a second reading. Upon Roll Call vote, Aldermen Allen, Larson, Powers, Solinger, Strain adn President Postier voted aye. Ayes (6), Nays (0). and the Ordinance was given its second reading. Solinger moved, Allen second to adopt the Ordinance as read. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. H-2 President Postier presented a letter he received from Ember K. Metz an Rowena S. Metz. They do not oppose the establishment of a funeral home on the Assembly of God church property on Elton Hills Drive, but they are concerned about the zoning being B-4. They would like to see a lesser zone be established in that area. aving no further businesss, Solinger moved, Allen second to adjourn the meeting Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. City Clerk
