HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-30-1982Agenda Item A-1 E-1 E-2 E-3 G-1 G-2 RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA Special Meeting No. 9- August 30, 1982 President Postier called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M., the following members being present: President Postier, Aldermen Allen, Bluhm, Duffy, Powers, Solinger, and Strain. Absent: None. The:call:,of the'.special.meeting was read by President Postier, the same being called for the purpose of considering the improvement project in Fred Schuster Industrial Park and any other business the Council may deem proper... Allen.moved, Solinger second to approve the Change Order No. 1 on the 1982 T-Hangar Site Grading and Storm Sewer Extension and authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute documents request ing state share of the construction costs. The agreement will have an addition of $2,255.00 to the original contract cost of $24,826.90.. This was necessary because of a rock excavation which was not anticipated. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Duffy moved, Strain second to approve the request for payment in the amount of $2,069.93 to.:McGhie and Betts, Inc. for engineering services on the 1982 T Hangar Site - Grading and Storm Sewer Exten- sion at the Rochester Municipal Airport. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Allen moved, Bluhm second to approve the request received from John Marshall High School to fire rockets at the John Marshall Football games during the 1982 season. This has been done in the past. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Strain moved, Bluhm second to remove the request for Basic Improvemen in Fred Schuster Industrial Park - Project No. 8210 J 8790 - Const- ruction of Underground Public Utilities and streets in proposed Fred Schuster Industrial Park from the table. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Solinger moved, Duffy second to adopt Resolution No. 414-82 ordering the project to be made. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Alderman Allen abstained. Motion carried. Powers moved, Bluhm second to remove the request to advertise for bids for Project No. 8210 J 8790 Construction of Underground Public Utilities and streets in proposed Fred Schuster Industrial Park from the table. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Bluhm moved, Duffy second to adopt Resolution No. 415-82 authorizing the City C�(ork to advertise this project for bids. Bids to be opened at 11: A.M. on October'1,1982. Ayes (6 ), Nays (0), Alderman Allen abstai Motion carried. The above two items require I01 to submit a letter of credit coverin the amount of the first three year's payment of principal and interest on the special assessment bonds sold to finance the project. The amount is to be $20,410.00. Resolution No. 417-82 approving a resolution of the Public Utility Board approving a purchase order with RTE Corporation for 4 pad mounted distribution transformers of various sizes in the amount of $24,673.00. Resolution No. 418-82 approving a resolution of the Public Utility Board approving a purchase order with Engergy.Economids'-for annual: requirements of Zinc Phosphate in the amout.of $22,200.00. Resolution No. 419-82 approving a.Contract amendment No. 1 with Silver Lake Dam Repair with Acton Construction. This is a reduction in the final contract price of $15,147.00. Ayes (7), Nays�— Motion carried. Sol.inger moved, Powers second to adopt Resolution No. 420-82 approv- ing an owner contract with Mohn and Pent Development Company for Sanitary Sewer extension to serve the 7th day Adventist Church site in Bel Air First Replat. The Mayor and the City Clerk are author- ized to sign said documents. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Having no further business, Allen moved, Bluhm second to adjourn the meeting.
