Members present: President Selby, Aldermen Bluhm, Canfield, Hunziker, McConnell, Solinger and Strain. Absent: None. Strain moved, McConnell second to adopt Resolution No. 562-88 awarding the low bid submitted by Energy Economics for Anhydrous ferric chloride approx 1,000 lbs $ 204.00 per'ton for a one year period. and Hawkins Chemical for Liquid caustic soda for 350,000 gal @ 1.86 per gal thru April, 1989 with a possible increase not to exceed $1.96 per gal. from May thru Aug, 1989. Ayes.(7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Solinger moved, Canfield second to adopt Resolution No. 563-88 awarding the low bid of $274,133.32 to Rochester Sand and Gravel for Projeet.No. 6207-4-86 J 8961 - Grading and Surfac. Concrete Curb and Gutter, San. Sewer and Watermain and Ser. Connections in 7th St. N. W. from the W. line of Co. Club Manor 4th and 7th Sub. to approx. 1430 Feet West. Ayes (7), Nays (0).Motion carried. Bluhm moved, McConnell second to adopt Resolution No. 564-88 author- izing the City Clerk to advertise for bids on Prq)e`ct No. 6505-88 J 9053 - San. Sewer and Watermain in 36th Ave. S. E. from the Center of Sec 5 T 106 N R13W to 400 feet North. Bids to be opened on Sept.14, 1988 at 11:00 A.M. Ayes (7), Nays (0).Motion Carried. Strain moved, Solinger second to suspend the rules on the Ordinance Annexing to the City of Rochester 8.46 acres of land in the SE 1/4 of sections in Marion Township - Victory Baptist Church property and give this Ordinance a second reading. Upon Roll call vote, Aldermen Bluhm, Canfield, Hunziker, McConnell, Solinger, Strain and President Selby voted aye. Ayes (7), Nays (0).Motion carried and the Ordinance was read for the second time.- Bluhm moved, McConnell second to adopt the Ordinance as read. Ayes (7), Nays (0).Motion carried. Strain moved, Hunziker second to adopt Resolution No. 565-88 awarding the low bid submitted by Rochester Sand and Gravel Rochester, Mn. in the amount of $58,827.50 for Taxiway Seal Coat at the Rochester Municipal Airport. Ayes (7), Nays (7). Motion carried. Solinger moved, Strain second to table the request to award the low bid of $67,781.00 to Interstate Motors for a 46,000 lb sander for the Rochester Municipal Airport. Conversation by the Council regarding the acceptance of a bid was the determining factor. A representative of Mack Trucks was present and stated that all things considered, Interstate Motor did not meet specifications. Council wanted time to sort this out.
