CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA
Adjourned Meeting No. 34 - May 22, 1989
President Selby called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M., the same
meeting being held in Room 4 of City Hall. Members present :
President Selby, Aldermen Bluhm, Hunziker, McConnell, Solinger and
Strain . Absent: Alderman Canfield.
Solinger moved, Bluhm second to adopt Resolution No. 336- 89
authorizing the City Clerk to.advertise for bids to be opened
at 11:00 A.M. on June 14, 1989 on the proposed remodeling of City
Hall. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried.
Strain m —ed, McConnell second to accept the feasibility report and
authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids and set a public
hearing for June 19, 1989. The bids to be opened at 11:00 A.M.
on June 16, 1989 on Project 8401-10-89 J 9106 - Street Construction
San. Sewer, Storm Sewer, Watermain and Service Connections in
loth Sub. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried. Res. 337-89 was
McConnell moved, Soiinger second to approve the request by the
American Cancer Society to conduct a Duck Derby off the 4th
St. S. E. bridge. This is in connection with Rochesterfest.
Various City Depts have approved of this request. This is a request
for a raffle. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried.
An Ordinance Relating-7to control of the Public Streets and other
public ways; requiring that a public Utility supplying electric
service to customers at retail within the City of Rochester obtain
a franchise; amending the Rochester Code of Ordinances by adding
Chapter 98 providing for enforcement and penalties. This was given
a first reading. Strain moved, Hunziker second to suspend the rules
and give this ordinance a second reading. Upon Roll call vote,
Aldermen Bluhm, Hunziker, McConnell, Solinger, Strain and President
Selby voted aye. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried.
The Ordinance was given its second reading. Strain moved, Bluhm
second to adopt the Ordinance as read. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carr.
Solinger moved, McConnell second to remove the request for a transfer
of the On Sale Exclusive Intoxicating- liquor license - Belle Lynn
Inc. from Bud Fricke to Mr. Joe G. Thomas DBA Hollywood Cocktail
Lounge including Sunday Liquor effective June 1, 1989. Ayes (6),
Nays (0).Motion carried.
Having no further business, Hunziker moved, McConnell second to
adjourn the. meeting. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried.
