HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-22-1990RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL N4 '. 3470 Agenda Item A-1 E-1 F-1 CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA No 3470 Adjourned Meeting No. 22 - January 22, 1990 President Selby called the meeting to order at 1:45 P.M., the said meeting being held in Room 4 of City Hall. Roll call was taken: President Selby, Aldermen Bluhm, Canfield, Hunziker, McConnell and Solinger. Absent:Alderman Strain. Discussion was held on the request to hold a designer clothing "Auction" every Thursday at the Hoffman House in Rochester. Mn. Mr. Dean Kroenke of KROC, Auctioneer explained that this was designer clothes and the bidding would be on the outfit - model would go off stage and package this purchase for the customer. Each auction would last approx. 2 hrs.. Discussion was held by the Council and McConnell moved, Solinger second to deny this license. Upon roll call vote, Aldermen Bluhm , Canfield , Hunziker, and President Selby voted nay. Nays (4), Aldermen McConnell and Solinger voted aye. Ayes (2), Motion did not carry. After further discussion by the Council, it was decided that they really did not have authority not to grant them this license. Based on this, Canfield moved, Hunziker second to approve -this for six months and bring this back to the Council for review. Upon roll call vote, Aldermen Bluhm, Canfield, Hunziker, and President Selby voted. aye. Ayes (4), Aldermen McConnell and Solinger voted nay. Nays (2). Motion carried. Solinger moved, Bluhm second to approve the application submitted by Joe Rohy of 408 lst St. S. W. Cannon Falls, Mn. for a house movers license from 314-316 and 320 4th Avenue N. W. to Cannon Falls, Mn. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried. An Ordinance Annexing to the City of Rochester unplatted land in the North half of the Sec. 17 in Twp of Cascade'- 24.6 acres of land Rossi Property was presented to the Council. Canfield moved, Bluhm second to suspend the rules and give this a second reading. Upon Roll call vote, Aldermen Bluhm, Canfield, Hunziker, McConnell, Solinger and President Selby voted aye. Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried. This Ordinance was given its second reading. Bluhm moved, Solinger second to adopt the Ordinance as read. Ayes (6), Nays (0). Motion carried. Having no further business, Hunziker moved, Solinger second to adjourn the meeting . Ayes (6), Nays (0).Motion carried. Q IIA14 y Clerk
