Minutes of a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in said
City on November 1, 1943. -
President Lemmot called,the meeting to order at 2:00 o'clock P.M., the
following members .being present: President Lemmon, Alderman Kennedy,. Kjerner,
Mrachek, Nass, and Yaeger.._ Absent: Alderman.Fryer on.account of illness.
Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Kjerner, the minutes of the -meeting of
October 25, 1943, were approved.
The -following list of free-hcld.ers appointed by.District Judge, Vernon
Gates, Third Judicial District;.Minnesota, as members of the Charter'Commission,
was read -and ordered placed o'n file: Glenn E. Burbach; Mrs. Marion .M., Essex,
Allen J. Furlow, Amiel L. Glabe, Roy W. Goddard, William Har.iick, Dr. Raymong J.
Jackman, Theodore_H. Johansen, Austin_ A. Kennedy,. Thomas M. McDonnell, William
L. C. Ra.dke, . G. Slade Schuster, -Mrs. Loretta R. Slattery, . James T.. Sa.illane. and
Arnold -S. Weiberg, - l'
The budget submitted by the.Public Health and Welfare Board in the
amount of $15,091.00 was read and ordered placed on fLle -'
Alderman Kennedy introduced a resolution levying special assessments
for the construction of a curb and gutter and sidewalk in 12th.Street Southeast
between 3rd Avenue Southeast and llth Aver_ue'Southeast, which was read.
Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Nass, that the said resolutior_ be
adopted.as read, and all voting in favor -thereof, PresidentLemmor_ declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted:
Alderman Kjerner introduced a resolution levying taxes for School
District No. S,.upon the taxable property.in.said district, in the amount of
$1�47,504.00 for the fiscal year of 1943-1944, which was read.
Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Kjerner, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the.
said resolution duly passed and adopted. -
Upon motion by Nass,:second by Yaeger, the meeting was adjourned until
7:30 o'clock P.M., November 8, 1943-
