City on November 9, 19'-.-3. I President Lemmcn called the meeting to order at 7:30 c°cluck the folio:---*ing members being present: President Lemmon, Alderman Fryer, Kennedy, Kje-r-nev, Nass, and Yaeger. Absent: Alderman Mrachek. U-oon motion by Fryer, second by Yaeger, the minutes of the _meeting of I,Qvember 1, 1543 crere approved. i' Par. Russell H. E�rert, representing the Rochester Dairy Cooperative, appeared before the Council in regard to the disposal of sewage fron, the proposed i I' dairy to be constructed in Southeast Rochester. He stated that the priorities i for the construction of the building had now been arproved aid that the govern- dent was very anxious.to have the plant in operation by April -1st. However, the Dairy Company expected to meet all requirements of the Public •Healt'- and I Welfare Department and rrere willing to cooperate with the City, It -,:ras •sugoestc6L that the architect for the Dairy Comrany should meet with the Engineer, ;rho Iij , is now making a survey for a new disposal plan-1 and make propor plans fcr the disposal of the sewage frora the plant. �. 6 Mr. A. H. Clemens re'resenting the Rochester Bus Lines Inc., asked thatl, i the City allow more space for the parking of buses at the corner of Broadway and; 2nd Street Southeast. Upon motion by Nass, second by Kennedy, t'e matter was referred to the Police Committee, the Chief of Police, and the Chief of the Fire i� Department with power to act. The petition of the Kahler Corporation to vacate the alley in Block 30, , I i Original Plat of the City of -Rochester, 1-Unnesota, was read and the same was ordered placed on file. I The report of the*Cit-r Weighmaster for the month of October, 1543 showing 401 private loads wclighed and receipts of $40. 10, -F:,as read and President Lemmon referred the same to the Finance Committee. I The report of the Building and Plumbin€ Inspector for the mouth of I, October, 1943 showing fees for building permits issued �21.00 and •fees for I plurij?ing permits issued �3.00, eras read, and President Lemmon referred the same to the Finance Committee. The report of the Electrical Inspector for the month of October, 1943 ehowir_g fees for electrical permits issued $1.1.50, was read and President Lemmon referred the same to the Finance Committee. The application of the Town Taxi. Company to operate two taxicabs, was read and upon. motion by Nass, second by Fryer, the same were grantedsubject to the terms of the ordinance. The application,of the Rochester Bus Line, Inc., to operate te,c buses was read and upon motion by Nass, second by Yaeger, the sane was granted. The application of Lyle R. R111fson for a Driver's License was read and uron motion by Kjerner, second by .Fryer, the license was granted. The application of Edwin-H. BrQwn for a Master 'Electrician's License. was. read and upon :notion , by Yaeger, second by Fryer, the license was granted. Upon motion_ by Kjerner, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution be adopted, as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted: Alderman. Kennedy introduced a resolution appropriating $200.73 from the Street & Alley Fund and ordering payment made to the A. & W. Company for parts for the Patrol Sweeper, which was read.*, _ Updn motion_ by Kennedy, se.ccnd by Fryer, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon �declare.d- the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Kennedy introdu.c'ed a resolution appropriating $557.17 from the Street & Alley Fund and ordering payment made to the General Fund, Code 24 for gasoline furnished St. & Alley Dept., which was read. Upon motion by Fryer, second by. Kjerner,- that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all vo-tin.in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared -the Isaid resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman -Kennedy introduced a resolution appropriating $675.36•.from the (General Fund and ordering payment made to The Texas Company for 2 transports of gasoline, which,was read. Upon motion by Yaeger, second by Nass, that th-e said resolution. be (adopted as read, aid all. voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the Isaid resolution duly. passed and Adopted. Alderman. Kjerner introduced a resolution appropriating $313.20 from the (General.Fund and ordering payment made to the Commissioner of Taxation for State I Gas Tax and- inspection fee, which. was read. Upon motion by Nass, second by Kennedy, that the said resolution be adopted -as -read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the 'said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Kjerner introduced a resolution appropriating $1,459.70 from the General Fund. and ordering payment made to Universal Motors for a 1942 Mercury Tot:,n- Sedan, which was- read. Upon motion by Yaeger, second -by Kennedy', that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the Isaid resolution duly -passed and adopted. Alderman Yaeger introduced a resolution ar-,ropriat,ing $244.90 fror. the lGeneral Fusd and ordering payment made to the Rochester Post Bulletin for dog lists, sprinkling notices, proceedings, which was read. Upon motion by Nass, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution be a.dcpted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon ,declared the 'said 'resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Yaeger introduced a resolution appropriating 'y247. 35 from the F. E. Williams Estate Fund a.nc ordering payment, Dade to Simon Stensrud for 3/8 I i 17hare of net income from F..E. Upon motion by Iiennedy, second by Fryer, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare.an ordinance prohibiting the parking of gasoline tank trucks and cattle I trucks on certain streets within the City of Rochester.
