M., the ollowing members being present: President Lemmon, Aldermen Fryer, Kennedy, jerner, Mrachek, Nass, and Yaeger. Absent: None. Upon motion by Fryer, second by Kjerner,-the minutes of -the meeting of February 7, 19?4 were approved. A notice from the.League of Minnesota Municipalities of -municipal short courses at the University during the.month of March was read and action on same .was deferred until the meeting of March 6, 1944. A detailed report of the activities of the Fire Department for the -year ended December 31, 1943 by Chief C. E. Ginther, was read and the same was .ordered placed on file. Applications for Retailers Off -Sale Liquor License, signed ,by Andrew Chafoulias,. Joe Wallace, Chris Margellos and Eugene Huey,, Leo A. Huey, Hazel- Kitzman, and R._ M. Graen,. each with a surety bond _in, the sum of .$1000.00 with the Western Sure-ty Company as surety; the application signed. by Emanual Ko.stakes, together with a surety bond in the sum, of $1000..00 ,with the Western Casualty and Surety Companyas. surety; and .the .application, signed by. Robert-P. Kennedy, toge.thi with a surety bond in the sum of.$1000.00, with the --Standard Accident Insurance. Company as. surety, were each read, and. upon motion by Nass., second by I jerner, . the said licenses were granted, the bonds. approved., the, sur,eti.es thereon. accepted land it was.ordered that the same be placed on file. L. Fritsch was read and upon motion by Mrachek, second by Fryer, the transfer was approved. Alderman of- the, First Ward' of the City of Rochester,- Minnesota, and William Buss and Martin W. Nass are hereby declared to be candidates. for Alderman of the.Third Ward of -the'-City of Roch-ester, Minnesota, at the Charter Election to be held March 14, 1944. The City Clerk of said Ci ty is hereby instructed to cause the names of the said persons to be printed.as candidates for the respective offices upon' the official ballots at the coming Charter Election to be held.Ma.rch 14, 1944.11- Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Kennedy, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, -President Lemmon declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Fryer introduced a -resolution granting nine public dance: permits ,to `Veterans of Foreign Wars, which was read. Upon motion by Fryer, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Yaeger introduced a resolution granting.three public dance permits to Percy Klein, which was read. Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Kjerner, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Upon motion by Kennedy, second by 'gjerner, MK the City Attorney %,Ms inllt to prepare an.amendment to the Ordinance providing for formation and government of the Fire Department, increasing the members on the department from 32 to 33. Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Yaeger, John Juyber, Amiel L. Glabe and Harold Whiting were appointed, as requested by the Board of Park Commissioners, to appraise the A. J. Mohlke property at 219 East Center Street and adjacent to the Park property. Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Fryer, the meeting was adjourned. City Clerk
