Upon motion by Mrachek, second, by Fryer, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, president Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Kennedy introduced a r esoluti.on appropriating $192. 28 from the
General Fund, $2.00 from the St. & Alley Fund, $12.90 from the Fire protection
Fund and 1809.20 from the Lighting Fund and, ordering payment made to City of
Rochester, Public Utilities for .elec-tric, power and water, which .was read.
Upon mo-tion by Kennedy, second by McQuillan, that the said resolution bi

Alderman Kjerner introduced a resolution- appropriating $1256.78 from

Mayor Gras.sle read a communication from the Chicago North Western
Railway Company giving the schedule of all trains passing through the City and
stating that their Company was willing to cooperate wit_: the City in making an
effort to cu-rta,il all noise as far as possible.
Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Kjerner, Fire Chief, C. E. Ginther,
was granted permission to attend, at city expense, the National Fire Convention
to be held at Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 2S, 1944.
Upon motion by Kjerner, second by Yaeger, Wm. Bennyhoff was authorized
to attend the convention of International Association for Identification, to be
held at Deadwood, South Dakota beginning on August 28th through August 31st, 1944,
his expenses to be paid by the City.
It was re-oor ted to the Council that damage had been caused to the
I?orthern part of Silver Lake Park Property by the caving in of gravel pits
