Upon motion by Kjerner, second by Kennedy, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Fryer introduced a, resolution granting 21 public dance permits)
to N.C.O. Club, Co. K, which was read.
Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Kennedy introduced a resolution granting 2 public dance permit
to George C. Ramme, which was read.
Upon motion by Fryer, second by Mrachek, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and a.11 voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Kennedy introduced a resolution appropriating $890.94 from Jj
the General Fund and ordering payment made to the Public Health & Welfare Fund,
for garbage assessments received from Olmsted County, which was read.
Upon motion by McQuillan, second by Kennedy, that the said resolution

said resolution duly passed and adopted.,
Alderman Kjerner introduced a resolution appropriating $8,404.86 from
the General Fund and ordering payment made to the Public Health & Welfare Fund
for taxes received from Olmsted County, which was read.
Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Mrachek, that the said resolution be
!adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the

Alderman Kjerner introduced a resolution appropriating $4,734.00 from

the Fire Protection Fund and ordering payment made to the Public Utility Dept.,
Ifor rental of hydrants, which was read. •
Upon motion by Fryer, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution be

adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
!said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman McQuillan introduced a resolution appropriating $315.00 from
the P.I.R. Fund and. ordering payment made to the First National Bank of Rochester
)for interest on Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund bonds, which was read.
Upon motion by Kjerner, second by Kennedy, that the said resolution be
,adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
(said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman McQuillan introduced a resolution appropriating $9,000.00 from,',
the P.I.R. Fund and ordering payment made to the First National Bank of Rochester!

Upon motion by Yaeger, second by.Fryer, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Mrachek introduced a resolution appropriating $2,250.00 from th
lInterest Fund and ordering payment made to First National Bank of Rochester for
linterest.matured on City of Rochester Electric Light bonds, which was read.
Upon motion by Fryer, second by Yaeger,. that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Mrachek introduced a resolution appropriating $466.33 from the
iremen's Relief Fund and ordering payment.made to the Rochester Fire Department
Relief Association for.taxes received from Olmsted County, which was read.
Upon motion by Mrachek, second by McQuillan, that the said. resolution b
ladopted as read, and.all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Yaeger.introduced a resolution appropriating $1,973.63 from th
Police Relief Fund and ordering payment made to Rochester Police Relief Associatic
for taxes received from Olmsted County, which.was read.
Upon motion by Yaeger, second by Kennedy, that the said resolution be
adopted as read,.and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
(said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Yaeger introduced.s. resolution appropriating $152.49 from the
(General Fund, $4. 89. from. the St. & Alley Fund, 19.99 from the Fire Protection Fund
land $3.061.00 from the Lighting.Fund and ordering payment made to the Public
Utility Department for water, power and electricity, which was read.
Upon motion by Kjerner, second by Kennedy, that the. said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
(said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Kennedy introduced a resolution transferring Supervisor of
INursin g Service to payroll of Public Health & Welfare and increasing her salary
to $2900.00, which was read. -
Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said resolution.duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Kennedy introduced a resolution appropriating $499.00 from the
Genera.( Fund.a.nd ordering payment made to the Mayor's Contingent Fund, which was
read.

Mayor Grassl-e discussed legislation prepared by the Executive Committees''
if the League of Minnesota Municipalities and adopted at the bi-annual legislative)
:onference of Municipal officials held December 15, 1944, and upon motion by

[rachek, second by Fryer, he was instructed to communicate with the Senator and
I
representative from this locality in regard to the passage of the following changes
n the Minnesota taxes: that 40 per cent of the proceeds of the gross earnings 1'
,axes on steam railroad, express, sleeping car, freight line, telegraph and
,elephone companies be allocated to cities, villages, boroughs and counties in
,roportion to population, and that all political subdivisions of the state be
xempted from paying the state gasoline and special use fuel taxes.
Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Fryer, City Attorney Hunt was instruc
o contact Mr. Harold Moody of St. Paul, in regard to the preparation of a bill
o permit cities of the 2nd class to issue revenue bonds.

The report of the Building Inspector for the month of. December, 1944
showing.building permits issued $41.00 and plumbing permits issued $24.25, and
the report of the Electricial Inspector for the month of.December, 1944 showing
electrical permits issued $20.25, were each read and President Lemmon referred
same to the Finance Committee.
Upon motion by Mrachek, second by Kennedy, the meeting was adjourned.
