I President Lemmon called the meeting to order -at 7:30 o'clock P.M., the �Ifollowing members being present: Lemmon, Fryer, Kennedy, Kjerner, McQuillan, and i (Yaeger. Absent: Narveson. ,i The recommendation -of the Alater Committee that the bid of Carlisle G: I (Fraser for the sum of $7964.60 for the construction of a watermain on Third Avenue b ;'Northwest from 14th Street Northwest to 1500 feet North be rejected and that the JlCity.Engineer be instructed to procure the necessary services for the construction, of a watermain from 14th Street -Northwest to 900 feet North of 14th Street, was II i' I Bread. Mr, and Mrs. Chas Stock, Mrs. B. M. Strickland, and Mr. Wm. Rubow all ;,owners of property abutting on 3rd Avenue Northwest, north of the end of the Ilpresent.watermain, were present at the meeting and urged that a watermain be con- • 1, structed in front of their -property. which would be North of the end of the presenit (,main. �. Mr. Frank Newhouse, attorney representing -Clarence Thompson; stated thai. he would like to have.further information as to the -number of feet which would be!, I -assessed to the Thompson property. II After further discussion a motion was made by Fryer, seconded by Kjerner, jthat the City Engineer make a careful survey to determine the number -of feet each property owner would be assessed for the construction of a new watermain if ,continued beyond the present main and that the Water Committee confer further with 'the Public Utility Board.in regard to the size of a watermain-which should be constructed. The matter of spreading assessments over a number of years was also ,discussed and upon motion by Kennedy, second by McQuillan, it was recommended I !'that the assessment be spread over five years in five equal installments with Ijinterest at the rate of 5%- j .I The applications of Henry L. Poppe, Chas. D. Matson and Ronald Overton i for Driver's License were each read and upon motion by Kjerner, second by Fryer, I'the licenses were granted. i The application of Paul Plantz for a Journeyman Electrician's license ('was read and upon motion by McQuillan, second by Kennedy, the license was granted. The application of Arthur Brown for a Master Electrician's license was read and upon motion by Fryer, second by Kennedy, the license was granted. r i The application of the Knights of Columbus for a. permit to place and (maintain a sign was read and upon motion by Yaeger, second by Kjerner, the permit; i was granted. July 19 lg 45 The official bond of William A._Sessing in the amount of $1000.00 with the.Fidelity & Casualty Company of New York as surety, was read and upon motion by Kennedy, second by Fryer, the bond was approved, the surety thereon accepted and it was ordered that the same be placed on file. Upon motion by Fryer, second by Yaeger, the meeting was adjourned until 7: 30 o'clock P.M. on July 24, 1945. �� City Clerk
