HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-29-1997RECORD OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA 60-75 Recessed Meeting No. 22 - September 29, 1997 Agenda Item A-1 President John Hunziker called the meeting to order at 3:45 P.M. with the following members being present: Councilmembers Mack Evans, Ed Hruska, Marcia Marcoux, Jean McConnell, David Senjem and Walter Stobaugh. Absent: None. C-1 - I Councilmembers Evans moved, Stobaugh seconded, to approve the following C-4 consent agenda items: C-1 I Approve the following licenses and bonds: House Moving Progressive Movers - 3 apartment buildings from 1203, 1209 and 1215 Fourth Avenue S.W. to Dodge County and one to temporary storage - September 30 and October 1, 1997. Miscellaneous Street Use John Marshall High School - Homecoming Parade - October 3, 1997 Marathon for Non -Public Education - St. John's Church to Silver Lake - October 4, 1997 C-2 Adopt Resolution No. 517-97 approving the revocable permit for canopies, building facade, and skyways supports for the existing Woolworth building with five conditions. C-3 Adopt Resolution No. 518-97 entering into a supplemental agreement with Road Constructors, Inc. for demolition of the existing structure at the Technology Park property at a cost of $40,000 and enter into an agreement with consultants for services relative to potential onsite problems such as well closure and petroleum tank removal. C-4 Adopt Resolution No. 519-97 entering into an agreement with Elcor Construction, Inc. for demolition and removal of structures located on airport lands at a cost of $27, 060.00. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. E-1 Councilmembers Senjem moved, Evans seconded, to approve the waiving of annexation fees for residential properties adjacent to proposed improvement projects Ayes (6), Nays •(1). Motion carried. Councilmember McConnell voted nay. E-2 Councilmembers Stobaugh moved, Evans seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 520-97 amending the Comprehensive Traffic and Parking Resolution Book as follows: 1. Adding Paragraph (9) to Section A Angle Parking to read: (9) First Avenue SW, on both sides from 2nd Street to 3rd Street. Amending Paragraph (11) of Section I "Metered Parking" (Zone E - 90 minute meters)" to read: (11) First Avenue SW on both sides from 2nd Street to 3rd Street. Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Councilmembers McConnell moved, Marcoux seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 521-97 entering into a City -Owner Contract with Rochester Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and Bob Braaten Construction for Project No. J-9452 "Watermain to Serve Kingdom Hall". Ayes (7), Nays (0). Motion carried. Councilmembers Stobaugh moved, Marcoux seconded, to adopt the following resolutions entering into City -Owner Contracts: Adopt Resolution No. 522-97 entering into City -Owner Contract with Cottages Homesteads of Rochester, Inc. and Road Constructors for Project No. J-9396 "Utilities to Serve Salem Meadows, Phase I". Adopt Resolution No. 523-97 entering into City -Owner Contract with Senst Properties and Road Constructors, Inc. for Project No. J-9453 "Watermain to Serve S & S Moving and Storage". Adopt Resolution No. 524-97 entering into City -Owner Contract with Universal Ford Power & Marine and Fraser Construction Company for Project No. J-9454 "Watermain to Serve Universal Ford Power & Marine".
