City, on August 13, 1946. . President Protem Fryer called the meeting to order at 5:00 o'clock P. M..the.following members being present: Aldermen Fryer, Kennedy, Kjerner, McQuillan and Yaeger. Absent: President Lemmon and.Alderman Narveson. The call of the meeting was read and President Protem Fryer ordered that the same be placed on file, the said meeting being called for the purpose of considering the petition of Maurice J. Alexander, Norman A. Brecke and Paul Brinson to have the North 99.9 ft. of 6th Avenue Southeast South of 4th Street Southeast vacated, and any other business the said Common Council may deem proper The following petition was read: "To Honorable Mayor and the Common.Council of the City of Rochester Gentlemen: We the undersigned petitioners respectfully petition your honorable body to vacate that part of Sixth Avenue Southeast, lying south of Fourth Street, Southeast and between Lots 6 & 7 in Block 35 and Lots S & 9 in Block 36, East Rochester Addition. The said portion of Sixth Avenue is not used by the public as a highway as the same comes to a dead end south of the lots mentioned due to the fact that there is no bridge crossing Bear Creek at this location. Only the property of the petitioners can be served by the said Sixth Avenue. Maurice J. Alexander B & B Auto Bo dy. Co. Norman A. Brecke Paul Brinson" Upon motion by Kjerner, second by Kennedy, the same was referred to the Street & Alley Committee and the City Engineer for report at the meeting to be held on August 21, 1946. . Alderman Yaeger introduced a resolution granting seven dance permits to Archie W. Dieter, which.was read. Upon motion by Kjerner, second by Yaeger, that the said resolution 'be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Protem Fryer declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Upon motion by Yaeger, second by Kennedy, the meeting was adjourned. City Clerk
