HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-29-1947IM Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City on September 29, 1947. • President pro tem Fryer called the meeting to order at 5:00 o'clock P.M., the following members being present: Aldermen Akenhead, Fox, Fryer, Kennedy, KJerner, and Yaeger. Absent: President Lemmon. The call of the special meeting was read and President pro tern Fryer • ordered that the same be placed on file, the said meeting being called for the purpose of considering the -request of Arnold E. Teske and Betty Teske (his wife), owners of Lot 27, Auditor's Plat "A" to have the said real estate platted into lots -and to be known as "Replat of Lot 27, Auditor's Plat 'A' ". Upon motion by Yaeger, second by Kennedy, the plat was approved and the City Clerk was instructed to execute the certificate showing the action taken by the Common Council. The request of John Miner and Ethel M. Miner (his wife), John F. Miner and Eleanor D. Miner (his rife), oviners of the following described property, to have same platted into lots, blocks, streets and avenues and to be known as "Blocks One, Two and Three, Miner's Heights", was read: Commencing at a point on the west line of said Lot,Twenty-Five (25) feet North of the Southwest corner thereof, and running east parallel with the south line thereof Four Hundred Sevenyt- Four (474) feet, thence North at right angles with said line three hundred. eighteen and fifty six one hundredths (318.56) feet, thence North eight (9) degrees tk^6nty seven (27) minutes east one hundred three and one tenth (103.1) feet, thence North thirty seven (37) degrees forty (40) minutes east one hundred fifty (150) feet, thence N rth fifty two (52) degrees twenty (20) minutes west four hundred fifteen and thirty three one hundredths (415.33) feet, thence North seventy (70) degrees thirty five (35) minutes west two hundred seventy seven and ninety nine one hundredths (277.99) feet to a point on the west line of said lot, thence South thirty nine (39) minutes Fast two hundred fifty (250) feet, thence South eighty nine (89) degrees fifty nine (59) minutes east one and nine one hundredths (1.09) feet to the Northeast corner of Sellers Subdivision, thence South thirty three (33) • minutes Fast Six hundred thirty five and five tenths (635.5) feet to place of beginning, part of Lot fifty two (52) , State Plat of Section thirty six (36) Township one hundred seven (107) N rth, Range fourteen (14) west. Upon motion by Yaeger, second. by Kennedy, the plat was approved and the City Clerk was instructed • to execute the certificate showing the action taken by the Common Council. A petition for the installation of a sanitary sewer and watermain and grading on 12th Avenue Northeast in DuVille Addition was read and President pro tem Fryer referred the same to the Sewer Committee, the ?Dater Committee and the Street 3 Alle-* Committee for report at the meeting to be held on October 6, 191.7. Alderman_ Yaeger introduced a resolution granting three dance permits to 36,9 1 E • 1 • Sentember 29 1947 Mike Sternberg, which was read. Upon.motion by Akenhead, second by.Kennedy, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President ?Oro tem Fryer declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. The recommendation of.the Finance Committee that a loan in the amount of $2,000.00 with interest at the rate of 4% be granted to Ira Hull on his property located at 609 Second Street Northwest by the Rochester Fire Department Relief Association was read and upon motion by Akenhead, second by Kjerner, the recommendation was.approved. The applications of Dean P. Leaf for license to sell cigarettes at retail, soft drinks and to operate a pool hall at 217 South Broadway were each read andvupon motion by Yaeger, second by Kjerner, the said licenses were granted. Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Yaeger, the meeting was adjourned. City Clerk
