J. Lentfer, have asked that certain bonds be sold in order to have available sufficient funds to meet the obligations arising from the Silver Lake Pland Improvement, project in accordance with the following quoted communication: 'December 18, 1947 The Sinking Fund Commission and The Public Utility Board City of Rochester, Minnesota Gentlemen: It is obvious that additional funds will have to be provided for the payments required on certain materials for the Silver Lake Plant according to terms of existing contracts. It is further obvious that available funds in the Water Department will not be sufficient to meet our obligations which will become due soon on the completion of the well on Fourteenth Street and Eleventh Avenue Northwest and the eventual payments due on the Soldier's Field well. Although the bond market is, at the present time, not as strong as it has been we have no choice except to sell some securities. We do have many U.S. Government securities but have not held them long enough to realize the maximum earnings therefrom and I therefore recommend that the following State of Minnesota securities be sold by the Sinking Fund Commission.and including also School District #8 and Township of Feather- stone-: - FROM THE SINKING FUND FOR ELECTRIC DEPT.
