Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, held in the Council :Chambers in the City Hall, in said City, on August 25,195 -
President Fryer called the meeting to order at 5:00 o'clock P. •M.,the following
members being, present: President Fryer, Aldermen Amundsen, Anderson and Helmkay. Absentl:
Aldermen McPherson, _ Miner and. Morria. II
The call of the special meeting was read and President Fryer ordered that the
same be placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of considerir
the application of the Elk River Products Company for a building permit for the constr-
uction of a temporary plant and office at Eleventh Avenue and Seventh Street Northwest
and any other business the said.Common Council may deem proper.
Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Helmkay, the Building Inspector was
authorized to issue a special permit for the construction of a factory and office buildir
for the manufacture of cement sewer ,pipe to be used on the trunk line sewer from the City
to the new Sewage Disposal Plant.
Mr. Desmond B. Hunt, City Attorney, stated that easements from some of the
roperty owners between the City and the new Sewage Disposal Plant had 'not been completed
for the construction of the trunk line sewer to the new Sewage Disposal Plant, and
recommended that condemnation proceedings be started. Upon motion by Amundsen, second
by Helmkay, the following commissioners were named: Mr. George W. Leiferman from the
irst Ward; Mr. Carl Slight from the Second Ward; and Mr. Theo. F. Franke from the Third'
Ward.
Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Anderson, the meeting was adjourned.
