' President Fryer called the -meeting to order at 7:30' 0 c:17ock P. M•., the following members being present: President Fryer, Aldermen Amundsen, Anderson, Helmkay, McPherson, Miner and Morris. Abs.ent: None. ` 1 The cal71 of -the special meeting was read and President_ Fryer ordered that the same be placed on f il•e, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of- considering authorization.`of a representative from the Cham-b'er of Commerce to represent the City of Rochester, Minnesota, at a hearing of- the Civil Aeronautics Commission -in connection_ with the 'North Central Case 'to be held in Was-hington, D. C. on November 15, 17950- and any other business the said Common Council may deem proper. Mr. T. E. Gallagher, from General Mi-lls, Inc., was present at the meeting and explained that they -had now purchased the property of the Pervin Grain Company and had received an estimate from the remodeling of, same which would require from 75 to• 100- days.' After hearing Mr. - Gallagher amotion was made by Anderson, second by Morris, that the lease to General Mills, . Inc. b•e extended to April 1, 1751. • Mr. Gerald Goldberg was before the Council and stated that a sewer and watermain had been constructed along his property on 15th -Avenue ',Northeast- and that he could not us-e the said improvements. President Fryer referred ' the matter to the Sewer and Water, -Committees." - The application for the transfer of "on Sale"- Intoxicating' Liquor License No. 256 at the location of 12 South Broadway -from Mr: A. M. Huberty to Mr. Steve F. Gromek was read and upon motion by Amundsen, second by.Morris,•the transfer was granted. The application for transfer of "On Sale" non -intoxicating malt liquor license No.. 671 anct "Off -Sale" non -intoxicating malt liquor license No. 1299'at the location of 31 Fourth Street Southeast from Clarence Sather -to Fergus Brackenbury was read together with the applications of -Fergus Brackenbury for' a. license to sell cigarettes -and -soft drinks. -Upon-motion by Morris, second -by .Miner,.the same.were referred to the License -Committee. - The -applications of Charles .Wood.worth for a license to -sell -cigarettes and a license•to sell soft drinks were -each- read and -upon motion by Miner, -second by Helmkay, the licenses were granted. The .application of Charles Woodworth for an "Off Sale" license -to sell non -intoxicating malt -liquor was read and upon motion by Aiiner, second b�• Helmkay, the license was granted. 214 Record of .Official Proceedings. of. the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minn.,. November 13, 1950 �l j� Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution authorizing Paul A. Grasslo to appear and speak in behalf of the City.of Rochester at a hearing of the Civil Aeronautics Commission to -be held in Washington D. C. on November, 15, 1950, which was read. Upon motion by McPherson, second by Helmkay, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, Pre°aident. Fryer declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution appropriating $7,792.44 from the Park Improvement Fund and ordering payment made to the Mayo Civic Auditorium Revolving Fund, which was read. Upon motion by Miner, second by Helmkay, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in -favor thereof, President Fryer declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. The following claims were read and upon motion by Amundsep, Second by Morris, the same were approved and the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized and directed to draw warrants upon the City Treasurer and make payments accordingly: From the General Fund: E..
