President Fryer called the meeting to order at 7:30 o"clock P. M., the following members being present: President Fryer, Alderman Leo'Anderson, Brumm, Davis, Helmkay, and McPherson. Absent: Alderman�George Anderson: The call of the special meeting was read and President Fryer ordered that the same be placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of considering bids for improvements received by the Board o.f Park Commissioners and any other business•the said Common Council may deem proper. No bids -were received by the Board of Park Commissioners for the project! advertised. A motion was made by Leo Anderson, second by Helmkay, that the Council transact such other business as may come before the Council at this meeting and upon roll call all present voted in favor of the motion. Alderman Helmkay introduced a resolution rescinding apart of a resolution adopted by the Common' Council on May 21,1951 and setting the salary of the Secretary for the Building and Electrical Inspectors at the amount of $2,100.00 per year for the ensuing official year, which was read. Upon motion by Helmkay, second by Davis, that the said resolution be adopted as'read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Fryer declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. The request of the Wilgus Soft Water Supply Company for a 15 minute parking zone in -front of their place of business at 512 Third Avenue Southwest was read and President Fryer referred same to the -Police Committee. An invitation issued to the Council to send one or two representatives to a meeting for developing a Community Council for. Rochester and Olmsted County, signed by Mrs. G. M. Lowry, secretary of -Temporary Committee, was read and. President Fryer appointed Alderman Davis and Alderman McPherson to represent the Council at_a meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, October 18th, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. Upon motion by Brumm, second -by Davis, the meeting was adjourned. City Clerk
