Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in .the City Hall in said City,

onFebruary27, 1952.
President Fryer called the meeting to order at 7:30 o'clock P. N., the
following members being present: President Fryer, Aldermen Leo Anderson, George
Anderson, Brumm, Davis, and McPherson. Absent: Aldermen Helmkay, due to illness.
The call of the special meeting was read the said meeting having been
called for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the City Primary Election helc
on February 26, 1952 and any other business the said Common Council may deem
proper.
Alderman McPherson called to the attention of the Council Section
209.17 of the election laws of the State of Minnesota which -requires that the
Council in making a canvass of election returns inspect the counters of each
voting machine used at the election and check the tally thereon,xith the return
sheets. submitted by the Judges. A motion was made by Davis, second by Brumm, that
the members of the Council meet on the following day at 3:00 P. M. and proceed to
the various polling places and check the counters of each machine.
Upon motion by Davis, second by Brumm, the special meeting was adjourned
until 3:00 P. 1,11. on February 29, 1952•

Minutes of a special adjourned meeting of the Commcn Council of the
City of Rochester, Minnesota, held -in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in
said City on .February 29, 1952•
President Fryer called the meeting to order at 3:15 :o'clock P. M.$ the
following members being present: President Fryer, Aldermen Leo Anderson, Brumm,
Davis and McPherson. Absent: Aldermen George Anderson and Helmkay, due to illness
The members of -the Council present then proceeded to cheek the counters
of all voting machines used at the City'Primary Election held on February 26, 1952.
All-returns'submitted by the Election Judges were found to be correct.
They returned*to the Council Chambers at 7:30 O'clock P. M. and Alderman Leo
Anderson introduced the following resolution which was read:
"Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
1innesota:
That the following tabulated e'tatemert of the number of votes case for
each person at the Primary Election held on the 26th day of February, A. D.
1952, in the City of Rochester, Minnesota, as determined by said Common
Council on the canvass of the returns of the said Primary Election made
this 28th day, of February, A. D. 1952, and that the said tabulated statement
is hereby declared to show the results of the said Primary Election:
