City. of Rochester, Minn., March 11, 1953 Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, j' Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in said City, on March 11, 1953• President Bach called the meeting to order at 3:30 o1clock P. M., the following members being present: President Bach, Aldermen Brumm, Davis, Morris, Schroeder and Thiem. Absent: Alderman Whiting. Upon motion by Morris, second -by Thiem, the minutes of the meeting of March 2, 1953 Rere- l; � j; approved. President Bach stated.this as being the time and place set for the following hearings: . • Second hearing on the construction of a curb and gutter on 9th Avenue Northwest from 7th to 14th Street Northwest.ar_d on loth Street Northwest from 9th to loth Avenue Northwest. There was no one present wishing to be heard. ! r Second hearing on the construction of a curb and gutter on 4th Avenue Southwest from 3rd to 4th Street Southwest. There was no one present wishing to be heard. !' j Second hearing on the construction of a curb and gutter on 13th Avenue Southeast from East Center Street to 2nd Street Southeast. There was no one present wishing to be heard.. Second hearing on the construction of a curb and gutter on 2nd Avenue Northwest from 5th to 6th Street Northwest. There was no one present wishing to be heard. c . Second hearing on the construction of a, curb and gutter or_ 6th Avenue Northwest from the ;I i, Chicago Northwestern Railroad to 7th Street Northwest. There was -no one present wishing to be heard. Second hearing on the construction of a curb and gutter on 10th.Avenue Southeast from 6th to 8th Street Southeast. There was no one present wishing to be heard. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Morris, the hearings on the above projects for.curb and gutter were continued until the meeting to be held on Monday, March. 23,'1953 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. The application of Howard Unger for a permit to move a building on South Broadway from the ; roundhouse to Highway No. 14 South was read and upon motion by Schroeder, second by Davis, the permit was granted, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. The apblication'of the hysne Construction Company for a permit to move a house from 211'- 3rd Avenue Southwest to 1804 - 5th Street Southwest over the following route was read: !' "From 211 - 3rd Ave. S.W., to 2nd Street S.W., thence west on 2nd Street S.W. to Highway 52,,thence south to 5th Street S.W., thence west to 1804 - 5th Street S.W. Upon motion by Morris, second by Davis, the request of the hysne Construction Company was granted, same to be done under the supvervision of the Building Inspector and the Chief of Police. j The members of the Common Council then proceeded to canvass the election returns of the Charter Election held on March 10, 1953 by comparing same with the counters on each voting machine as required by Section 209.17 of,the election laws of the State -of Minnesota: i • I� 33 Record of Official Proceedings of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minn., March 11, 1953 Alderman Thiem introduced the following resolution which was read and upon motion by Davis, second by Morris, the resolution was adopted! "Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That the following is a tabulated statement and list of the number of votes cast for each person at the Charter Election held March loth, 1953, in the City of Rochester, Minnesota, as determined by said Common Council, on the canvass of the returns of said election made the llth day of March, 1953, the said statement is hereby declared to show the result of said election. Upon motion by Bramm, second by Morris, resolution adopted. Resolution accepting plans and specifications and ordering bids for construction of a curb and gutter on 2nd Avenue Northwest from 5th to 6th Street Northwest. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Thiem, resolution adopted.
