on August 2T, 1953.
President Bach called- the meeting to. order at' S:00 o'clock P. M. , the
following members being present: President Bach, Aldermen Ackerman, Anderson,
Morris, Schroeder,. Thiem and Whiting. Absent: � None.
The call of the special meeting was read and President Bach ordered
same placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of con-
sidering bids for the construction of a curb and gutter on 6th Avenue Northwest
from the Railroad tracks to 7th Street Northwest and any other business the said
Common Council may deem proper.
The recommendation of the Street & Alley Committee that the bid of C.M.
Boutelle for the construction of a curb and gutter on 6th Avenue Northwest from
the Railroad tracks to 7th Street Northwest be accepted at the unit prices bid,
and checks be returned to the unsuccessful bidders,
was read and upon motion by Morris, second by Ackerman, the -recommendation was

The following resolutions were each -introduced and read and President
Bach declared the same duly passed and adopted:
Resolution accepting bid of C., M. Boutelle for construction of a curb
and gutter on 6th Avenue Northwest from the Chicago Northwestern Railway to jth
Street Northwest. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Morris, resolution
adopted.

Resolution appropriating $25,991.46 from the Sever Fund and ordering
payment made to Sinking Fund of the City of Rochester. Upon motion by Ackerman,

second by Thiem, resolution adoptedat
The following resolution adopted by the Commissioners of the Sinking I
Fund was read and upon motion by Morris, .s,econd by Thiem, the same was approved

and ordered placed on file:
"WHEREAS, the Public Utility Board of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, has adopted the following quoted resolution:
'Be it and it is hereby resolved by the Public
r;
Utility Board of the City of Rochester, Minnesota,
that the Sinking Fund Commission of the said City j
be and is hereby requested to transfer the amount
of ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($115, 500.00) from uninvested funds in the
Sinking Fund for Electric Department Depreciation
Reserve to the Public Utility Fund, said funds to
be used for payment of accounts now due on the
La
ke aka Plant extension program."
SO THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Commissioners of the
Sinking Fund of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: --
That the sum of $115, 500.00 be appropriated from the
Sinking Fund for Electric Department Depreciation Reserve and j
paid to the Public Utility -Fund.-0
The application of Harold:F._Dornack for a.Hot Water and Steam Heating
Contractor.,s License was read and upon motion by Morris, second by Anderson, the

The application of Willard Bean for a license to sell soft drinks was
read and upon motion by Ackerman, second by Schroeder, the.license was granted.
The surety bond of Harold F. Dornack in the amount of $1,000.00 with the
National Surety Corporation as surety was read and upon motion by Thiem, second by
Whiting, the bond was approved, the surety thereon accepted and the same was
ordered placed on f il.e.
Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Thiem, the,meeting was adjourned.
