Record of Official Proceedings of the Common Council
of the City of Rochester, Minn., November 25, 1993
Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the
City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall in
said City, on November 25, 1953.
President Bach called the meeting to order at 3:30 o'clock P. M., the
following members being present: President Bach, Aldermen Ackerman, Anderson,
Morris, Schroeder, Thiem, and Whiting. Absent: None.
Upon motion by Ackerman, second by Thiem, the minutes of the meeting of
November 16, 1953 were approved.,
President Bach stated that this was the date set to canvass the returns
of the Special Election,held on November 24, 1953. After the canvass of the voting
machines a resolution was introduced showing the following tabulation of votes
cast for and against the proposed amendment of the Charter of the City of Rochester,
,Minnesota, and indicating that same was not ratified, a "yes" vote of 3845 being
necessary:

Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Morris, the above resolution was adopted.
The following claims were read and upon motion by Morris, second by
Schroeder, the same were approved and the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized and
,directed to draw warrants upon the City Treasurer and make payments accordingly:

The applications of Edw, D. Hines for license to sell cigarettes,

1¢off sale" were each read and upon motion by Schroeder, second by Morris, the

The application of Littrup Nielson for a license to, connect with sewers',
and drains was read and upon motion by Anderson, second by Schroeder, the same

was referred to the 'Sewer Committee, the Plumbing Inspector and the City Engineer;
A motion was made by Anderson, second by Schroeder, that the Council I'
meet, ;as :.a committee of the whole, with the members of the Park Board to discuss
the location of a new proposed sub fire station at 7:00 o'clo'ck P. M. on Monday,

November 30, 1953. All present voted in favor of the motion.' ;
Upon motion by Thiem, second by' Ackerman, the meeting was adjourned
until 7: 00 o'clock P-. M. on November 30, 1953.
