HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-02-1954220 Record of Official Proceedings of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minn., December 2, 1954 Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of'Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City, on December 2, 1954. President Bach called the meeting to order at 7: 30 o'clock P. M. , the following membgrs being present: President Bach, Aldermen Ackerman, Anderson, Moody, Morris,.Schroeder and Whiting; Absent: None. Upon.motion by Moody, second by Morris, the minutes of the meeting of November 29, 1954 were approved. The applications of Mr.Ross Browning and Mr. Morris L. Heydon for appointment to.the office.of City Treasurer were each read and President Bach ordered the same placed on file. The petition of Mr. E. M. Amdahl and Mr. H. S. Patterson for a loading zone at 420 and 424 North Broadway was read. Also Mr. Patterson was present and .was heard on the matter. Upon motion by Morris, second by Schroeder, the petition was referred to the Police Committee and the Chief of Police. Mr. Joe Robbins, Manager of the Peoples Natural Gas Company in the City of Rochester introduced Mr. Ernie Bliese and Mr. Dale TeKolste from the head office of the gas company in Kansas City. Alderman Schroeder introduced an ordinance amending an ordinance granting a franchise to the Peoples Natural Gas Company, same being Ordinance No. 609, whi was given its first reading. Alderman Morris stated that he had received complaints about a fence on the West side of the Lourdes High School building on 7th Avenue Northwest and mooed that the City Attorney be instructed to notify the school to remove the said fence.) Alderman Ackerman seconded the motion and all voted in favor thereof. Upon motion by Moody, second by Morris, the meeting was adjourned. Deputy City Clerk 0
