President, Bach called the meeting to order at 5:00 o'clock P. M. , the following members being present: President Bach, Aldermen Ackerman, Anderson, Moody, Morris, Schroeder.and Whiting. Absent:. None. Upon motion by Moody, second by Morris, the minutes of the meeting of January 25, 1955 were approved. The call of the special meeting was read andPresident Bach ordered the same placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of con- sidering an application for transfer of "on sale" intoxicating liquor license No. 349 and any other business the said Common Council may deem proper. The application of Jack Rubenstein for transfer of "On Sale" intoxicat liquor license No. 348 from Steve Gromek to himself was read. Mr. Rubenstein was present at the meeting and presented a plan of the building h-e intended to use for an "on sale" intoxicating liquor establishment, bowling alley and restaurant. No action was taken at this meeting on granting the transfer of the liquor license as applied for by Mr. Rubenstein. The application of Burnham & Adamson Motor Company for a license to hold an auction sale on January 29, 1955 was read and upon motion by Morris, second by Ackerman, the license was granted. A letter from Senator Walter Burdick inquiring as to whether the City wished to have a bill introduced in the State Senate which would remove the limitation of the amount of money second class cities could spend for band purpose was read. Upon motion by Ackerman, second by Whiting, the City Clerk was instruct,6d to reply to the said letter and inform Senator Burdick that the provisions for a three mill levy would be more than adequate for maintaining. the municipal band but it was the desire of the City that the $10,.000.0.0 limitation .as provided by . State Statutes be removed. Upon motion by Ackerman, second by'Morris, the meeting was .adjourned. Deputy City Cie rk is
