President Bach called the ,meeting to order at 5:00 P. m. , the following (members being present: President Bach, Aldermen Anderson, Moody, Schroeder, Schwanke, Tingley, Absent: Alderman Whiting. The call of the special meeting. was read and President Bach ordered the same placed on file, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of I considering the request of Industrial Opportunities, Inc. to have their newly lannexed property changed from a residential zone to an industrial zone. A letter. from.Industrial Opportunities, Inc. requesting that the Industrial Opportunities Inc. site recently annexed to the City of Rochester be zoned industrial was read and upon motion by Schroeder, second by Moody, the I same was referred to the Board of Zoning.. A motion was made by Schroeder, second by Anderson, that the Council lconduct other business at this time and upon roll call all present voted in favor I thereof, A letter from Mr. W. A. Swenberg tendering his resignation from the lRochester Utility Board and listing items which he felt needed continued study was read.. Upon motion ,by Schwanke, s econd by Schroeder, his resignation was accepted land the City Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Mr. Swenberg thanking him for services on the Public Utility Board, All present voted in favor of the motion. The Mayor's appointment of Mr. Emil Gauthier of 517 - llth Avenue S, E. (to the Public Utility Board to fill the unexpired term.of Walter Swenberg, term Ito expire on the second Monday in April, 1957 was read and upon motion by Schwanke, second by Tingley, his appointment was approved. - A Notice of claim for injury of Mary F. Klee of 616 - 3rd Avenue S. W. was read and upon -motion by Schroeder, second by Moody, the same was referred to the City Attorney. A resolution setting the salary of the Planning Director in the amount of $5,600,O0, for the ensuing official year was read and upon motion by Schroeder, (second by Anderson, the resolution was adopted, Upon motion by Tingley, second by Schroeder, permission was granted to use the Council Chambers for a meeting on May 4, 1956 with Mr. 0. M. Ousdigian, Secretary lof the Public Employees Retirement Association and City Employees. Upon motion by Schwanke, second by Moody, Alderman Anderson, Chairman of (the Committee to study sick leave and compensation of City Employees, was requested to attend the said meeting with the Secretary of. the Public Employees I Retirement Associat ion. C. A motion was madenby.Schwanke, second by Moody, that the City appropriate expenses for one man, selected by the Mayor, to represent the City of Rochester at the Aeronautical meeting in Washington D. D., said expenses not to exceed $199.00. All present voted in favor of the motion. Alderman Tingley stated that -the Building Inspector had informed him that he did not feel that the house located at 122 - 2nd Avenue N. E., which Johnson Bros. had requested permission to move, was in condition to be moved but did not know how he could stop him. Upon motion by Schwanke, second -by Schroeder, the matter was referred to the City Attorney and the Building Inspector. Alderman Tingley stated that in the remodeling of Michael'sSupper Club they had run into a problem, they wished to cut a door in the south wall and found it was a fire wall. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Tingley, the matter was referred to the City Attorney, the Fire Chief and the Building Inspector. Upon motion by Schwanke, second by Tingley, the meeting was adjourned. C y .Clerk •
