President Bach called the meeting to order at 5:00 p. m., the following members being present: President Bach, Aldermen Anderson, Moody, Schroeder, Schwanke, Tingley, Whiting. Absent: Done. 'he call of the special meeting was read, the said meeting having been called for the purpose of discussing plans for Trunk Highway Yo. 52 and any other. business the said Common Councib may deem proper. Mr. C: A. Armstrong, City Engineer, presented Mr. Frank Pawlak, Assistant to the District Engineer of the Minnesota State Highway Department, who discussed vith the Council the possibility of having a. full clover leaf at the proposed_ intersection of Trunk Highway No. 14 and Highway No. 52, which would allow, traffic to go either way and also the possiblity of having just. a. one-half intersection. He stated that if the Council i-,,ere interested in a full clover leaf it. would be asked to participate in the increased cost. Ald.erman Moody inquired as to what the cost would be to the City and ,stated that he felt some estimate shoo-ldl' be given before the City agrees to construction of same. Mr. Pawlak stated that if the Council were interested the Highway Department could present plans and estimate of cost in the near, future. Mayor McQuillan stated that he felt there was some doubt as to whether or not the City could participate in the cost of constructing highways or bridges outside of the City limits. The matter was discuassed at length, and the Council was in favor of same, but no action was taken until the City Attorney .could give an opinion on whehter or not the City could participate in the cost. Upon motion by Moody, second by Schroeder, the meeting was adjourned ur_til 7:30 P. ml on Friday, February S, 1957. Cit, Clerk 0
