M., the following members being presents Prestdent Bach, Aldermen Haas, Morris, Schroeder., Tingley and Whiting. President Bach_ stated this as being the time a4d place set for receiving and opening bids for the following projects:. Bids for the construction of a water tower to be located on the east . side of 18th-Avenue Northwest approximately 1250 feet north of the present city • limits. Bids for the construction of a sanitary sewer and watermain in 19th Avenue Northeast in Miner's Heights Fourth Addition: The bid of Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. for sanitary sewer in the amount of $4, 343.50 and for watermain in the amount of $5, 480.24. The bid of Carlisle G. Fraser for sanitary sewer in the amount of $4,182.90 and for watermain in the amount of $5,153.90. Upon motion by Morris, second by Schroeder, the bids were referred to the Sewer and Water Committees and the City Engineer. The bid of Leon Joyce in the amount of $76477.15 for the finish grading, base construction and road -mixed bituminous surfacing on 19th Avenue Northeast in Miner's Heights 4th Addition. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Tingley, the bid was referred to the Street & Alley Committee and the City Engineer for tabu- lation and report. The bid of Leon Joyce in the amount of $25,284.55 fo.r the grading, base • construction and bituminous surfacing on 6th Street S.W. - Folwell Lane, Falwell Court in Folwell Heights Addition. Upon motion by Morris, second by Schroeder, the bid was referred to the Street & Alley Committee and the City Engineer for tabulation and report. Bids for the construction of a sanitary sewer, watermain and service connections on 6th Street Southwest - Folwell Lane and Folwell Court in Folwell Heights Addition. The bid of Carlisle G. Fraser for sanitary sewer in the amount of '$34, 418.70, for watermain in the amount of $25, 236*90, for storm sewer in the amount of $4,125.70 and for sewer and water service connections in the amount of $8,060,00. Bids `for' the construction of a sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain and service connections in Sunset Terrace Addition and in 19th Avenue Northwest north of 14th Street Northwest in Valleyhigh Addition. The bid of Carlisle Go Fraser for sanitary sewer in' the amount of $499960.60, for watermain in the amount of $78,318.30, for storm sewer in the amount of $619090.60, for sewer and water service connections in the amount of $36,960.00. The bid of Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. for sanitary sewer in:the amount of $52,114.30, watermain in the amount of $92,957.70, storm sewer in the amount of'$66,328.30 and sewer and water service connections in the amount of $43,008.00. Upon motion by Morris, second by Schroeder, the bids were referred to the the Street & Alley Committee and the City Engineer for tabulation and report. The bid of Leon Joyce in the amount of $89, 995.00 for the grading, ' base construction and surfacing of streets in Sunset Terrace Addition and in 19th Avenue Northwest in 9alleyhigh Addition north of 14th Street Northwest and the bid of auarve & Anderson Company in the amount of $73,470.00. Upon motion by Haas, second by Tingley, the bids were referred to ,the Sewer ,& Water Committees and the City Rnginse-r for tabulation and report. , The. bid of, Leon Joyce in the amount of $70, 369. 00 for the grading, road mix bituminous surface and base construction of streets in Rolling Greens Addition. Upon motion by Haas, second by Morris, the 'bid was referred to the Street & Alley Committee and the City Engineer for tabulation and report. Bids for the rough grading of streets in Rolling Greens Addition. No bids were received. Bids for the grading and base construction of the approaches to the 7th Street Northeast Bridge. President Bach stated this as being the time and place set for a hearing on the petition on the vacation and abandonment of a part of Fourth Street North- west described as f ollowst "Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Rochester Shopping Center Addition to the City of Rochester, MI-nnesota, according to the plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds in and for the County of Olmsted and State of Miniseed;a; `and thence south on the west side of the Rochester Shopping Center Addition for a, distance of 100 feet to the place of beginning,' thence' east parallel . with the north line of said addition 345.05 feet to the west line of Sixteenth Avenue Northwest; thence west parallel with the north line of said addition 345.05 feet; thence north along the west line of said addition. 150 feet to the place of beginning a point 100 feet' south of the Northwest corner of said Addition." There was no one present wishing to be heard. A motion was made by Whiting, second by Haas, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolution vacating this street with the understanding that no action be taken on adopting this resolution until the interested parties have deeded the parcel of land to be substituted for the vacated street.
