President Teeks declared said resolution passed and adopteds Oscar Hjerling asked why the sidewalk along the west side of the Eaton property on Fourth Avenue Southwest .was not finished this fall, and a discussion of the case developed the fact that had the foreman, John McDonald,? not have been afraid of the proppects of rain, he could have finished this sidewalk on October 25, 1921, as he had all the excavation done and the forms laid on October 24, 1921, and that be- cause of the fact -that this was not finished on the 25th no further work can be done on it this year as Charter provisions require that all sidewalks constructed during the current year must be finished and assessed on or before October 25, 1921, and it also came out that while Mr. McDonald's attention was specifically called to the nec- essity of completing this sidewalk on the 25th, or not at all, he made no attempt to finish the job although he had plenty of time in which to do ita Motion by Miner second by Frank carried that the City Engineer be instructed; to fill the above mentioned excavation for sidewalk with cinders sufficient to make it i passable for pedestriansi President Weeks at this time excused Alderman Olson who'left the Council Chamberso The City Depository bond of the Olmsted County State Bank, in the sum of $1001000.00 bith E.
