A. E.,Markham asked that a street light be installed at the intersection of
`1'hirtee4th Street Southeast.and Third Avenue Southeast, and motion by Miner second by
Erickson carried that the request be referred to the'Lighting Committee.
The following. communication was read, and motion by Miner second by Case
carried that the same be.'placed on file:
TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE CITY OF RO CHESTER:
The undersigned property owners adjoining the propoged opening of Twelfth
Avenue Southeast along the west side hereby object to the opening of said street as
Y
now proposed with the west line of lot twenty (20) in Auditor's Plat "A" as the center
line of the proposed street
If the street is opened, it should be midway between Eleventh and Thirteen-
th Avenues. Southeast and in line with that part of Twelfth Avenue which is now opened.
If the street -is laid out as proposed, the distance between Eleventh Avenue
and Twelfth Avenue will be less than two hundred feet and the block on the east side
of the proposed street will be about two hundred sixty four feet between Twelfth
Avenue and Thirteenth Avenue and that it would be for the best interests of the pro-
perty owners of this section of the city and of the city as a whole and for the future
interests of all concerned to have the street laid out in line c:rith the part of the
avenue which is now opened ao as to make the same uniform throughout the
entire lend;+h of the avenue,
These petitioners consider thdt they would .be very seriously
damaged and their property greatly reduced in value by having the street
opened as proposed 'because it would not leave land enough left i'or a suit-
able building lot on each avenue between Eleventh and Twelfth,
We' earnestly .submit this'.to the respectful consideration of the
Council.
