Roll Call:, PreseTit:'WeeXs, Cook, Kitzman, Lemmon, Newhouse, Roeder, Wri7ht, Absent: None. , President Weeks announced that. this was the time and place fixed for a L hearing on the proposed paving of the alley running North and South across Block 5 in McCulloug-X!s Addition and asked .if there was any one present who wished to be heard. relative to the said paving. s - Mrs. Thomas Kinsella opposed the . pavin? of said alley and a letter from Mrs. J. W. Bryan, whieh was read,, also opposed the said paving& tvdotion by' Lemmon se-cond by :Wright carried that further proceedings in the paving- of .the alley as above described be abandoned. President Weeks announced that this was the time and place fixed for a �- hearing on the levying of special assessments for the construction of combined con- crete curb and gutter on Third Avenue Northwest from.Center Street t'lest to Third Street Northwest and on'Third Avenue Northwest from Third Street Northwest to Fourth Street Northwest and asked if there was any person present who wished;to be heard relative to the assessments for the said improvements. There was no person present who wished to be heard. President Weeks announced, that, this was the time and place fixed for a ,hearing, on the grading of, Seventh Avenue. Southeast between the South line of Eighth Street Southeast and the, North line of Ninth Street Southeast and asked if there was any person present whd wished to be heard in regard to the said grading. IZq Farrington, was read,' and it was further supported by the oral objection of George Be Knowlton, George Strifert and We 13. Richardson; Dr. T. J. Moore, and H. A. Hanson, talking for the improvement. President Weeks announced that this was the time and place fixed for a heaIiing on -the construction of - a combined curb and gutter on Second Avenue Southeast! Fourth Street Southeast 'to, Fifth Street Southeast, on First Place Southeast, Fourth Street Southeast to Fifth Street Southeast and on Fifth Street Southeast from I Third Avenue Southeast to First Place Southeast, and. asked if there eras any person present who wished to be heard in regard' to either or any of the said improvements. A .remonstrance against the above described improvement of First' Place Southeast signed by Walter- E. Dodge, R. C.: Nowell, G. P. JosseJyn and G. A. Smalley, Agent for the Go- G. We R. R...Co., was read, and it was also supported by the oral objection Of G. P. Josselyn. P. Condron opposed the imprdvement as above described on Fifth Avenue Southeast except that the curb which` he now has be left in place,. Mr. and Mrse Eugene Callahan opposed the' above described im- provement on Second Avenue Southeast if the cupb which they now have"'has to be removed. " Herman Kruse talked for the 'above described improvement of r Second Avenue Southeast and also quoted Chas. Alexander and Mr. She l lhamner as being in favor of it. President Weeks announced that this was the time .and.place fix- ed for a hearing on the construction of a concrete curb and gutter on and the grading of Fifth Avenue Southeast from the South line of Sixth Street South- east to the North line of Tenth Street Sdutheast, and asked if there, was any person present who wished to be heard in .regard to- !any matter relative to the said improvement. A remonstrance against the above described improvement of Fifth Avenue Southeast signed by H. E. Rose, A. J.. Rowley,- Claude He Rowley, J. Re Kuntz, TV, S. Bassett, Julia Christopherson, Gus A. Schmidt, K. Knutson, Archie Fitch and '.ors. Lenora, Wheel erg was read, and was also' supported by the oral objection of Henry E. Rose and Frank Koelsch. President Weeks announced that this was'the time and place fixed for a hearing on the construction of ,a sanitary ;sewer in Third Avenue Southwest from the Sewage Lift Station to a point 93 feet. South of the South line of.Sixth Street Southwest and asked if there was any one present who wished to be heard relative to the said sanitary sewer. A remonstrance against the said sanitary sewer signed by Airs. Sabina Kalb, Mrs., Mattie Allattson, Mrs. Roselia Eaton1 and Ififs. Alderman Cook introduced a resolution: determining to adhere to 'Y ,all ,formes resolutions in the matter. of the gralding of Seventh Avenue South- east to an established grade andto a width: of fifty (50) 'feet, from the South - line of Eighth Streert Southeast to the fine of Ninth Street Southeast, -North which was read,.
