M-inutes of an adjourned re;.;ular Meeting of the Common Council of the
City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in t,..e Council Chambers, in the City
ball, in said City, on Ti o--,ember 15th, 1926, at 7:30 o' clock P.
Meetin.d called to order by President Weel_s.
Roll Call: Present: Weeks, Adler, Bach, I-lickr, ;i tz:i,_:n, Po t,icr,
Schroeder: Absent: ':one.
On motion by 7itzma.n second by Schroeder the minutes of thc: meetings
and
held on October 15th, 19_6,/October 18th, 1926, were each approved.
The application of Sullivan Ro Harwick for a license to conduct an
action sale of their, hardware stock during; the period Noverc:ber 27th,
102r�, to December 27th, • 1026, was read a,nd on motion b.; Bach second by
Adler license was granted at a, fee of $25.00 for the period mentioned.
`i'he auction s lu license bond of E. J. Sullivan and Ja - L. Harwick
co—partners, doing bus.-Inesc as Sullivan ° Harwick, with 0. C . Utz and H,
A. J6hnson as sureties thereon, each in the amount of $ 500.00, was -nread an
Aral ,,.,rn motion by Dicks second by Schroeder the, said sureties wereAappro-
vcd and it was ordered that the said bond be placed on file.
The report of the City ,'Jeighmaster for the months of September and
October, 1926, showing Neighing fees collected in the amount of ;"P-7.50
during September, 192G, and yg48.60 collected during October, 192.6, was
read and President Weeks ordered that the same be referred to the Finance
Committee.
The report of the Health Officer for the City Farm for the month of
October, 1926, showing receipts �1106401.77, disbursements in the amount of
'1970.98 and a balance on hand in the amount of 05535.822 was read and
President Weeks ordered that the same be placed on file.
The applications of Whitlock -Sonnenberg Post No. 1215, Veterans of
Fore igm War s)for public dance permit at the Armory, Dfo°ember 25th, 1326,
for a public Dance Permit at the A.O.U.W. hall
and of the Degree of Honor
November, 23, 1926, were each separately read.
Two applications of the Town Taxi Cab Company, Inc., fol? license to

from the General Fund and it was ordered that the same be paid to the 1926 Sprinkl
account for srrinkJQg of Second Qtreet Southwest along the property of Hattie A.
iege , she having refused payment of the same because her property is not within
the Limits of the City of Rochester, Minnesota and because that legal assessment
cannot be made against her property due to the fact that it is not within the
limits of the City of Rocheste,, Minnesota.
On motion by Bach second by Adler the sub of `'J0,5 was appropriated
from the General Fund and it was 6rdered that the same be raid to the 1926
Sprinkling account for sprinkling around the Witherstine property.
'.':'his being the time and place fixed for the discussion of the purchase
of a Soldier's Memorial Field, Wm.. Q. Fitz w-11s A. Pruett, J. J. Reiter, Henry
Brock, Paul Priebe, Oscar V. Ranson, Glenn Witherstine, Dr. G. H. Newhouse and Mayor
&Qwmon, expressed their views on the matter; 25 persbr_s out of the 33 who Were pres-
nt, exclusive of City Officials, expressed themselves as favorsb:l.e to the purchase
of the Craharn property for a' Soldier's Memorial Meld, the other eight making no
declaration as to whether they were against the project or not or whether they
;1ere neutral or not.

City Engineer with power to act and instructions

The following copy of resolution has road and on motion by Bach second
by Adler the Action set forth therein was approved and it was ordered that the

"Be it resolved by,the Commissionersof the Sinking ,Pund of
the City of Rochester, Minnesota:
That the sum of Q2182R.68 is hereby appropriated from the
Sinking Fund of said ity and paid to Xalman A Company of St.
Paul, Minnesota, for 920000,00 State of Minnesota, Q per cent,
Rural Credit Bonds, dated February,15th, 1924; J20000,CO thereof
being principal on aaid bonds 11543,60 thereof being premium on
the said bonds at 107.968 to net 4,10 less 4 per cent, and 1277.08
thereof being accrued interest on the said bonds from August 1514,
1926 to November 30th, 1926, inclusive. One half of the above
mentioned appropriation being for the'investment of Sinking Funds
for the retirement of Electric .Light Bonds and one half thoreof
bcin7 for the investment of Sinking Funds for the retirement of
Water Works Bonds."
The following copy of resolution was read and President Weeks ordered
that the same be placed -on file:

Common Council of the said City be and is hereby requested
to authorize the said Board to enter into contract with

to the City of Rochester of 4000 to 7P00 tons of 2" Wasson Harrisburg
Screenings in accordance with specifications and advertisement
for bids therefore at a rice of $5.21 per ton F O.B.Rochester

of ,5.21 F.O.B. Rochester, 'Minnesota, and fixing; the amount of the bond to be given
by the said contractor at the sum of `;36470.00, which .::as read.
