Meeting called to order by President Weeks, Roll Call. Present: Weeks, Adler, Erickson, Miller, Rommel, Schroeder.. Absent: Htnks, President Weeks announced that this was the time and p]:ace fixed for a hearing on the proposed construction of a sanitary sewer commencing at a paint in the center of Tenth Street Northeast, 48 feet Nest of the West line of -Second Avenue Northeast and running Southeasterly to a point 10 feet East of the Northeast corner of Lot 1 in block 40 in Northern Addition, and thence South 65 feet parallel with said West line of Second Avenue Northeast and there ending, and asked if there was any person 'present who wished to be heard relative to the said proposed sanitary s ewer . There was no person present who wished to be heard. President Weeks announced that this was the time and place fixed for a hearing on the proposed construction of a sanitary, sewer in Third Avenue Southeast commencing at the center of the intersection of Tenth Street Southeast and Third Avenue Southeast and running thence Southeaster- ly.35 feet to a point 13 feet West of the East line of Third Avenue South- east and 10 feet North of the South line of Tenth Street Southeast, and II running thence Southerly along a line 13 feet West of the East line of 11 Third Avenue Southeast to the intersection with the center line of Four- teenth Street Southeast, and asked if there was any person present who wished to be heard relative to the sal)d proposed sanitary sewer. There was no person present who wished to be heard relative to the said proposed improvement. President Weeks announced that this was the time and place fixed sewer for a hearing on the construction of a sanitary/and the laying of 6 water main described: Commencing at a point in the center of Fifth Avenue Southeast and Tenth Street Southeast, and running East in the center of Tenth Street Southeast to the center" of Sixth Avenue Southeast and Tenth Street Southeast and thence running South Along the center of Sixth Avenue Southeast to the center of Eleventh Street Southeast, and also commencing in the center of Tenth Street Southeast and Sixth Avenue Southeast and running North along the center line of Sixth Avenue Southeast: 4.. to a point 135 feet South of the South line of Ninth Street Southeast, and the laying of a water main in the said parts of..Tenth Street.Southee.,st,and Sixth Avenue Southeast, and asked:Af there was any person present who wished to bet heard regarding the, saidimprovemen ts. Willard G. Lewis made remonstrance against the 1pying of the water main byspecial assessment but when he was fa, iAiar with the plan to refund the water main costs when service use Is,,. commenced, hls. objection was withdrawn. Alderman Hicks came in at this time and took his 8hair. Alderman Schroeder introduced a resolution determining to adhere to all of the provisions of former resolutions,passed and adopted in the proceedings for the condtruction of a sanitary sewer..and the laying of the wateF main described: The construction of a sanitary sewer commencing at a point in. the center of Fifth Avenue Southeast and Tenth Street South- li east, and riuining Rast in the center of Tenth Street' Southeast *,ndthe I center_of_SIxth Avenue Southeast and Tenth Street Southeast and running thence South along the center line of Sixth Avenue Southeast to the center of Eleventh Street Southeast, and also commencing in the center of Te:Ath Street Southeast and Sixth Avenue Southeast and running North along the center line of Sixth Avenue Southeast to a point 135 feet South of the South line of Ninth Street Southeast, and the laying of a water main in the said parts of Tenth Street Southeast and Sixth Avenue Southeast, which was read. C. Fraser & Son, for the construction of a sanitary sewer and the laying of a water main in parts of Tenth Street Southeast and Sixth Avenue Southeast, as above described, and fixing the amount of the bond to be given by,the said contractor at the sum. of ,$3;'750P.Owhich .was read. Upon motion by Schroeder; second by Hicks, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting i'n favor thereof, President Weeks declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted—, R Alderman Rommel.introduced a resolution accepting the bid of.Martin Paulson for the construction of a surface drainage sewer in Fifth Avenue Northwest from Ninth Street Northwest to Eighth Street Northwest, and firing the amount of the bond to be given by the.said contractor at the sum of 375,00, which was read. Upon motion by Erickson, sweond by Adler, that the,eatdresolution be f adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, Rresident Weeks declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted, j 7C 7 Alderman Miller introduced a resolution accepting the proposal of artin Paulson for the construction of a surface drainage sewer in Seventh Street orthweet between Sixth Avenue Northwest and the bridge over Cascade Creek, and ixing the amount of the bond to be given by the said contractor at the sum of 5.003, which was read. Upon motion by Hicks, second by Schroeder, that the said resolution be adop�ed E as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Weeks declared the said resolu— tion duly passed and adopted. Copies of billings made by the City Clerk against the Rochestet State Hospital and Saint Mary's Hospital .for their share in the operation of the local sewage disposal plant during the period October 1,1926 to September 30th,1927., were laid before the Common C ouncil,and upon motion by Rommel, second by Erickson the ratio of interest therein used in the billing, i. e., 6.11 per cent for Saint, Marys Hospital and.-ilee9 per cent for the State Hospital, leaving 82 per cent to be borne by the City of Rochester, Minnesota, was approved, Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Hicks, Council adjourned to 7:30 o'cloc P .
