Meeting called to order by President Roll Call. Present: Weeks, Adler, Erickson, -ricks, Miller, Ro-imel, Schroeder. Absent: None. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Adler, the minutes of the meetings held on November 2th,1927, and December 5th,1927, were approved. President Weeks announced that this was the time and place fixed for a hearlr_ on the levyin;r of s,oecial assessments for the cost and expense of the follow- ing described public improvements, and asked if there was any person present who ,aishcd to be heard relative to either or any of them: The construction of a sanitary I s servier cormnencin,l at a point in the center of Fifth Avenue Southeast and Tenth Street So Southeast, and running; East in the center of Tenth Street Southeast to the center of Sixth. Willard G. Lewis was present and expressed himself as being favorable to the levying of special assessments against his property on Sixth Avenue Southeast for the sanitary sewer and water main in parts of Tenth Street South- east and Sixth Avenue Southeast; and Alderman Schroeder requested that atten- tion be given to the situation in regard to the Tenth Street Northeast and Second Avenue Northeast, sanitary sewer, in that the City of Rochester should ps.y part of this assessment, otherwise there were no jLnterested'persbns present who wished to bt: heard concerning the assessments for the above described im- provements. The ©'ity Clerk reported that there were no ptoposals offered for the purchase of the `i17,000.00 Permanent Improvement lievolving Fund Bonds adver- tised for sale at this time. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Miller, further proceedings for the sale of the said "'P17,000.00 bonds were abandoned. The following Designation was read, and upon motion by Adler, second li +� III by Roiamel, cnd all voting in favor thereof, it was accepted effective at this time: " Rochester, Minnesota. Upon motion by Erickson, second by Hicks, W. M. Weeks was appointed Mayor of said City to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mayor C. D. Upon motion by Rommel, second by Erickson, that the said resolution be adopt as read, and all voting in'favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolu- tion duly passed and adopted. Alderman Adler introduced the following resolution, which was read: "Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: ,-,' hat the sum of `3700.00 be and the said sum is hereby appropriated from the Street and Alley Fund of said City and ordered paid to Lester Implement Company for one 2 ton Model 54 International Truck and 3 yd, steel dump body and hoist, of said city under which said truck and equipment was purchased Browne city Engineer under dateofDecegiber l th,1927. emergency authorization given by Mayor C. Alderman Adler introduced a resolution appropriating A, 65%20 from the Sewer Fund and ordering payment made to the Public Utility Fund for electric power furnished for sewage disposal plant August 31st, 1927, to September 30th,1927, which was road. Upon motion by Erickson, seenind by Schroeder, that the said resolution be n:; in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the adopted as read, and all voti said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Erickson introduced a resolution appropriating �11069.50 from the Street and Alloy Fund and ordering payment made *to R. G. Waldron and wife, for gravel furnished February 26th,19?7, to October 20, 1927, in e,ceorda.nee with records thereof on the G,-neral Led;rer of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, which was read. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Adler, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof,, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Williams Postmaster for 250 two cent stamped envelopes for use of the Mayor. Alderman Rommel introduced the following resolution, which was reed: "Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: ' That the following; sums be appropriated from the funds mentioned for use of the Street and Alley Committee of said City: 11)100.00 from the Permanent Improvement Fund; " ,:r,2000.00 from the Street and Alley Fund. Upon motion by Adler, second by Erickson, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Under the request made in the meeting of the Common Council, held Decenber 22nd, 1927, President Liddle appointed the City Engineer, Aldermen Adler, Erickson and Miller as members of the committee for investigation and recommendations in the matter of the purchase of another motor driven grader. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Miller, the sum of „-p27.b6 was appropriated from the Sewer Fund and it was ordered that the sarue be paid to the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund for to apply on the cost of the construction of a sanitary sewer in Tenth Street Northeast and Second Avenue Northeast. ` Alderman Schroeder introduced a, resolution levying special assess- ments for the construction of a sanitary sewcr in parts of Tenth Street 2iorth- east and Second Avenue Northeast, which was read. Alderman Schroeder introduced a resolution levering special assessments for the construction of a sanitary sewer and the leying of a water main in Teeth Street Southeast between Fifth, Avenue Southeast and Sixth Avenue Southeast, and in Sixth Avenue Southeast, between Ninth Street Southeast and Eleventh Street Southeast, which was read.
