Poyles proposal the City Engineer offered the information that this improvement would necessitate'a siphon for the i surface drainage sewer now crossing First, Avenue Northeast, and a re- arrangement of the sanitary sewer grades in that, locality, Rnd the re- j:� !! buildinn of the cinder sump in the Thin& Street Northeast surface drainage ii I!i s ewer, Upon motion by beirmon, second by Hicks, the proposal above ou$lined by Ear. Boyle, was referred to the City Engineer, the City attorney and the � 9i Common'Council as a committee of thewhole, for further conference with. the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Company officials and representatives, with instructions that report thereon be made at a, meeting of this Common Council which is to be held at 2:00 o'clock P.M... December 3rd,1928. 1f ` A Ir. Moore a:ttorrey for the Witte Transfer Company, appeared bela- tive to the complaint that the said Company are using their heavy trailers on newly imporv- : City streets, and conceded that th„ City of Rochester �1 has full and absolute control in the government of truck traffic on its �+ streets and offered the cooperation of his Company to the extent of ;3 �^ agreeing to keep their trucks off from such streets as the City Engineer might designate as being subject to damage by their traffic. He further i stated that it is the intention of his company to construct a large terminal warehouse at which most of the large loads will be unloaded and distributed with smaller trucks. Upon motion by Schroeder, second by Lemmon, the City Ati,orney was instructed to draw an ordinance regulating automobile truck traffic within the City of Rochester , Minnesota. Upon motion by Miller, second by Hicks, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Hicks introduced the following resolution, which was read,: " Be it resolved,by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Mi=e sQt a: That the sidewalk along the West side of Eighth Averme Southwest between Sixth Street Southwest and Ninth Street Southwest be constructed along a line with the outside line thereof two feet eight inches (218") inside the West -curb line of said Avenue; and that the sidewalk along the North side of Eighth Street Northwest between 8th and 9th Ave.S.W. be constructed with the South line thereof 2' 8" inside the North curb line. .Be it further resolved by said Common Council: That all resolution s inconsistent herewith be and the same are hereby repealed."
