Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in.the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in said
City, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., December 13th,1928.
Meeting called to order by President Liddle.
Roll Call, Present: Liddle, Erickson,.Hic.ks, Lemmon, Schroeder.
Absent: Miller, Rommel.
The call for the special meeting was read, said meeting being called
for the purpose of acting on the approval of transfer of Mrs. Florence E. VanTassel
Jitney Bus interests to George T. Trenholm, and any other business that the said
Common Council might deem proper.
The following application for transfer was read:
" TO THE HONORABLE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROCHESTER.
I. Florence E. Van Tassel, the owner and operator of the Van
Tassel Bus Line, do hereby petition you to consent to the assignment
by me of all of my right, title and interest in and to the rights
and privileges under Ordinance No. 342, as amended, and entitled as
follows:
An ordinance authorizing L. Van Tassel, his heirs, assigns and
successors to establish,conduet,matntain and operate jitney bus line,
or jitney bus lines, through,over,upon and a among the streets and avenues
in the City of Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota.,
to George T. Trenholm,
Dated at Rochester, Minnesota, this 13th day of December,1928.
Florence E. Van Tassel. "
Alderman Erickson introduced the following resolution, which was read:
"Vl EREAS, Florence E. Van Tassel has petitioned the Common Council of
the City of Rochester, Minnesota, for its consent to assign all of her right,
title and interest in and to the privileges under an ordinance entitled, "An
ordinance authorizing L. Van Tassel, his heirs, assigns and suseessors to establish
conduct, maintain and operate jitney bus line, or jitney bus lines, through, over,
and along the streets and avenues in the City of Rochester, Minnesota", the same
be mg Ordinance No.342 of said City and the said assignment to be made to one
George T. Trenholm, and;
WHEREAS, the said assignment will not become opefative or valid until and
unless the same is approved by the RailRoad and Warehouse Commission of the State
of Minnesota, and;
WHEREAS, under the terms and c mditions of the said Ordinance No.3421, no
assignment can be made until and unless the same is consented to by the said Common
Council;
NOW,THEREFORE, Be tt and it is hereby resolved by the Common Council
of the City of Rochester, Minnesota:

%hat the said Common Council does hereby consent to the said assignment
by Florence E. Van Tassel to George T. Trenholm of all of her rights and privileges
under the said Ordinance No.342; provided, however, that this consent as herein

given shall be of no effect until and unless the Railroad and Warehouse

Public Convenience and Necessity, by approval of the said assignment or
otherwise allow the said transfer to be made."
A motion by Hicks, sOcond,by Lemmon,-that'the said resolution be
adopted as read received the following vote: Ayes: Erickson, Hicks,
•Lemmon. Nays: Schroeder. ,
President Liddle,upon the ruling of t'he Cl,ty'Attorney, declared
the motion lost.
Upon motion by Lennon, second by Hicks, Co$nell adjourned.
