M. , on December 31st ,1928. lieeting called ,.o order by President Liddle. Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Erickson, Flicks, Lemmon, Miller, Rommel. Absent: ScT-,roeder. i The call for the special meeting was read; said meeting being icalled for the purpose of considering offer of Public Utility Board to pay $5,000.00 per year for 20 years toward the cost of the new City Hall, and any oth-r business that the said Common Counci],might deem proper. The following copy of resolution passed and adopted by the Public !; Utility Board,was read, and upon motion by Rommel, second by 4emmon, I . the City Clerx was instructed to prepare a resolution: approving the action set forth therein and accepting the same: "Be it and it is hereby resolved by the Public Utility Board of the City of Rochester,Minnesota that the said Board .oes hereby record it's willingness to Enter into negotiation with the Hon. Common Council of the i said City for the acquirement of space in the proposed new City Hall bui_i-ding for it's accounting offtees at a fixed rental of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS (05,000,00) per year for a period of twenty years from occupancy with the provision that the rental thereafter be free -and Be it and it is hereby further resolved by the s.- id Board that this offer is contingent upon the following stipulations - That the designing and arrangement of space be made in accordance with the wishessof the Public Utility Board; That the Public Utility Board have jurisdiction over the space during the period of the occupancy; That the janitor•service,light, 4eat and water and incidental repairs to this portion of, building be provided from the General Funu of the City." Alderman Schroeder c-%nia in at this time and took his Chair. Reports made by C. C. Pagenhart, Heffron & Fitzgerald and G.Schwartz & Co., on their investigation of the condition of the present City Hall Building,were read, and upon motion by Lemmon, second by Hicks, it was ordered that the same be placeu on file and that copies thereof be given to the Rochester Post -Bulletin for publfeation, and that the City Clerk transmit the thanks of this Common Council to the above mentioned contractors for the very complete reports which they made. Upon motion by Erickson, second by Hicks, Council adjourned. n City Clerk. I
