The report of the City Treasurer for the month ending October 31st,1929, showing $242,771.460 as being on hand, was read, and resident . Priebe, asked that the Public Utility Board be instructed to. investigate the 'possibilit ies of the construction of a dam across the Zumbro River at -the - Broadway Street North Bridge for the development of electric power,, which request -was supported by W. F. Lenz. A motion by Schroeder, second by Vihstadt., carried that this matter be referred to the City Engineer and the Superintendent .of the Electric Light Plant for their investigation as to the,; -feasibility of the development of electric power by the construction of a dam on the Zuhlbro River just East of the Bridge on Broadway Street North., and that they make report thereon at the next meeting of this Common Council which is to be held at 7:30 o'clock P.M., November 15tht1929. ,Upon motion by.Schroeder , second, by Miller., the City Clerk was instructed I .to notify the City Engineer and the Superintendent of the Electric Light Plant as to the above request for their inve-ittgation'.
