Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Dallman, Hicks, Miller, Rommel, Vihstadt. Absent: None. Upon motion by Rommel, second by Amundsen, the minutes of 't,he meeting held on September 2nd,1930, were .approved. Peter Barlow representing the local brick layers' unison, asked that j i :this brick enclosure be done be day labor, as they feel that the low bidder for this contract will not abide by the local labor ordinance as to schedule of wages. G. Worth, and Rev. Zick, talked against the Common Council authcrl.zing the P.hove mentioned contract, and George W. Granger, Di-. H. H. Bowing, Dr. A.H. Sanford, Bunn T. Willson, and A. R. Naehretner, explained that the award of this L contract would be but the fulfillment of an unofficial agreement with the Sisters � ..of Saint Francis made at the time ;hen they granted the ninety nine year lease for the water tat k location, that it :could be beautic'ied as shown on the plans which they seen before they were adopted by the Public Utility Board. Frank Stoppel made a suggestion that the clock which is now in the t^:ver of the old Central Fire Station be moved to a tower on the Cooperative building, and D. B.% Franklin, representing the Riverside Holding Company the � owners of the G:oop6i•ative building, stated that his company thought that if this 'Clock is to be i•etaintd in service, it, should be placed on public property or on i a public building. Upon motion by Rommel, second by Vihstadt, the matter of the future loea- •tion of the old Fire Station clock, was referred to the Public Grounds Committee, and the City Attorney, with instructions that they make report on the subject at the next meeting of this Common Council. Upon motion by Rommel, second by Dallman, that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution levying special assessments for the construction of a sanitary sewer and the laying of a water main described, commencing at the center of the intersection of Tenth Street Southwest and Eighth Avenue Southwest, and running West along the center line of Tenth Street Southwest 3o0' feet, thence North 55° West 615 feet through Plummerts Replat "A", thence North 180 West 300 feet, thence North 450 West 250 feet to the West line of the City Limits, consisting of an 8" sanitary sewer with 6" lateral connections to the property line, and a 4-2,'Class B. cast iron water main with 1" lead connections to the property line, with corporation cocks and curb stops; curb boxes not furnished, which was read. Kruse, President of the Olmsted County Fair Association, that the -;�66.47 claim of the City of Rochester, for 1930 sprinkling, water, etc., used at the Fair Qrounds, be cancelled and abated, and upon motion by Hicks, second by Rommel, thesum of $66.47 was appropriated from the miscellaneous budget division of th,, General Fund and it was ordered that the same be paid to the sprinkling budget division of the General Fund for cancellation of the above mentioned account against the Olmsted County Fair Association.
