IIpon, motion by Hicks,-. second by -Amandeen, the Building and Electrical ,Inspector was instructed.to take_supervision.of the gas testing machine and make•3 tests each week, and make monthly reports of the results to this Common Council. The City Engineer mentioned the necessity for the repair of the manhole and flush tank at Third Avenue Southeast,snd Tenth Street Southeast, and said that the cost would be about $75.00, at which motion by,Hicks, second by Miller ,carri-ed that the City Engineer -secure., -the necessary labor -and materials and rebuild the said manhole, and eliminate the flush tank at this point. The City Engineer,, 4 taking exceptions. -to a comment which the publio; Examiner made in his report on the examination recently made of the books and: records of the City of Rochester,, Minnesota, asked that: the Common Council approve the disbursements of $;75 per hour made to his son Henry R. Armstrong, which was not done, but a motion by Miller,,: second by Amundsen, carried that the City Engineer be authorized to pay $,75 per hour for a City surveyor when necessary. The City Engineer called attention to the necessity for the painting and ;overhauling of all City owned motor equipment, and upon motion by Rommel, second by Amundsen,.the City Clerk was instructed to draw a resolution proviiing authority for the painting and overhauling of City owned motor equipment. The matter of delegates to the Road Shoes at St.Louis. Missouri, was discussed, and a motion by Hicke, second by Miller carried that any of the City Officials wishing to attend be authorized to do so at the expense of the City of Rochester, Minnesota Upon motion by.
